thanks so much for the guide. just did this on my 996 and went like clockwork thanks to it. always nervous about plastics but these Porsche ones seem quite robust. i've not moved the heated seat switches yet; left them taped up for now until i read up on removing the main horseshoe and get some trim tools.

Love this mod! Do you know how much room is between the carpet and the metal plate that is holding it in place? I would love to install the HVAC control there as I have a 2DIN radio, so no room left at the top. Any thoughts? Thanks!

got a kit ordered for my new (to me) 996. the only difference i have is i need to remove heated seat switches - have you ever pulled any of those switches? is it easy or do they break?
