Centerville, OH | High Pitched FS 2001-130 | Full Alert | Montgomery Co. Siren Test | 6/7/2021

Ойын-сауық

This siren is located at Driscoll Elementary School in Centerville, Ohio. This is the second siren I went to on the first Monday of this month. This was the loudest 2001 I've heard by a landslide, it was about as loud as the 'Nox I went to earlier that day. This is also arguably the highest pitched 2001 on KZread. Towards the beginning of the test though, the pitch was dropping quite a bit before getting back up to full speed. I believe this was caused by the rectifier shutting off and then turning back on or something like that. My close-up shot of this siren turned out a little dark due to the gloomy weather, but at least it stopped raining, and thankfully the wide shot turned out much better than from the Equinox.
There were also lots of Brood X Cicadas flying around in the area, two of them landed on my arms while I was there. After this siren shuts off, you can hear some of Kettering's RM-127's doing alert and attack in the distance. Also, my scanner fell out of my pocket when I slid down on one of the slides from the school playground (you might be able to see it at 3:00 in the wide shot), and never picked it back up, so I had to drive all the way back to the school the next day to retrieve it because I didn't realize I left my scanner there until after I got home on Monday. Enjoy!
Sirens in Montgomery County are tested on the first Monday of every month at noon for 1-3 minutes of alert. Most other sirens in Montgomery County and the Dayton/Miami Valley area test at the same time, although the procedure varies.

It's so high pitched that it's creating the Doppler effect

The motor is probably on a very high voltage. Great video! Also I really love high pitch 2001s(especially the Cuyahoga Heights SRNB)

They're all over, those cicadas. They were in Miamisburg too. Nice video. This siren used to be at the property that was the Hithergreen Center about 760 feet NW until 2016 when it was moved here. There was a Thunderbolt 1000T located at that property.
