For anyone who doesn’t know - George Donaldson actually passed on Wednesday March 12, 2014 at home in Glasgow Scotland after suffering a massive heart attack. He left his wife Carolyn and their daughter Sarah who was 13 years old. The person who posted the video included the date as 12/03/2014 which might be a bit confusing to most Americans. Some people may think it was December 03, 2014 and not 03/12/2014.

I know, it was so sad, I was so excited to meet him in the green room before the Brisbane Australia show in 2014, but he didn’t make it. I got to meet the rest of the band, but it wasn’t the same without him.😢

Iam Celtic Thunder Fan I was @ the hospital have a stroke when I heard thst George died of heart attack I was shocked It seems he died when I admitted @ the hospital I eas put in a ventilatorbalmost died I felt itvwas a miracle had 3 stroke

These “Celtic Thunder” Men are incredible musicians, with beautiful voices & vibrant personalities, who’s entertaining leaves you wanting more. There’s no acting involved here. When they perform, the audience can not only See, but they can Feel the love these men have for the music they sing, for each other, for their country, the great Country of Ireland, & for their audience. Part of the reason they’ve been & are still so successful, is that individually & as a group, they have learned how to draw their audience in… to make the audience part of the music, excitement & exhilaration of their show! They love what they do & it shows! I believe Celtic Thunder has & will continue to be one of the greatest musical groups of all times. George Donaldson, you are missed greatly! May you rest in peace. Their music 🎶 gives me Joy & it fills my soul to listen to them sing it. This type of music needs to be played more, listened to, danced to, taught, shared & sung to. Celtic Thunder ~ Thank You!

I think George was my favorite. I had never been affected by a celebrity passing until him; it took me off guard to be affected.

I remember seeing the first year’s performance live. Amazing and very sentimental. Grateful to have watched Bird w/out wings sung w/young Damian & George. ❤☘️

Yes he is. I saw him in 2015, and he is one of the nicest guys I’ve met. I actually met all of them, except George, he passed a few weeks before they came to Australia

I saw them the first time on PBS back in 2008 they got me through some hard times.

I'm not sure Celtic Thunder is my go to without the great Keith Harkin and dear old George Donaldson and the rest. 😢 I wish Keith was dragged back. He's doing his own thing but aren't they all?

I'd be happy if they only reunited once a year,or couple of years! It'd be amazing if all of them did a reunion show together! Except of course, for George, & there's no-one who could replace him either! I suppose he could be represented in video. I remember seeing their 1st PBS show & have loved them every minute since! I loved the way they made the songs into a sort of play, the only way I can describe what I saw. I think I had an "elderly crush" on all of them! Watching Damian grow up has been wonderful! I love all their music, but if I had to pick a favorite, it'd be Place In The Choir! It always puts a smile on my face!
