Celtic Knot Tutorial Part 1 The basics

Draw along with me and learn the very basics of how to draw Celtic knots. There are many ways of doing this, some prefer to use dots but I like to create the grid and draw the whole design 1st and then work on thickening the line. Then it is just a matter of creating the 3d effect and shading it in.
Please pause the vid if you need to, some of it is sped up.

Oh thank you, I am glad it made sense. The original vid was actually 40 mins long and I cut a lot out and sped a lot up. Il put up some more perhaps by next weekend and might also do a vid on mandalas. I have a bunch of them ready to be filmed lol

👽❤️ you could open up a tattoo studio with all your amazing designs! Great tutorial, this is so cool, you explained it perfectly. How did you come up with this? Must take incredible concentration and your spacing is so on point. I feel like you taught me a whole new way to draw, thank you!! Also love the intro, you have an amazing personality, I think you should be on camera more and talk more too. 🌹💥

Oh I am glad this made sense I wasn't sure if I did it properly. Iv been drawing these for a while now. I learned the basic method from a book from Sheila Shurrock and then just made up my own tribal looking knots instead of the usual ones. Thanks for your comment you are my biggest supporter. Il have another one up with more designs for you to play with.

I want to learn how to draw an animal or two linked together...I'm a jeweler so, I'd have to convert it to a smaller scale

Hi, just the right tutorial I need a celtic knot for engraving. Thank you. How did you draw your designs on black paper? Withe chalk first and than with a paint maker? I would love to see how you do "fancy lines" like in your designs, it is hard to me how to do different styles of lines.

Hi Doninis sorry for late reply. I actually draw the design on white paper but draw black ink around the design. I like the effect it has when I shade it in. Fancy lines came about through trial and error. The more you play around with sketches the more it will start to come out. I use paper that I dont mind destrying with bad sketches so I am not as fussy. Thank you for your comment.

Good tutorial. Thanks for this. The only real thing detracting from it was the super annoying background music. I would have preferred you talk about why you are doing things and reminders to clean up the lines instead of listening to the repetitive sound track.

Thank you for your comment it is much appreciated I will consider that. Just turn the music down if it's annoying you. I am new to voice overs but will do that at some stage and agree it would be much better.
