I'm from Swansea and started following Celtic in 1970 when I was 15 purely because of the kit and more importantly because of Jinky. Went to my first Celtic game from Swansea on 28/4/1973. 8 in a row. Jinky was brilliant. Whatca player he was.

I'm a Rangers fan of 36 years , my uncle who's a celt took me down the barras as a 15 year old boy to bairds bar many times !! where I had the the honour and privilege of standing close and seeing this legend of a player in real life , sometimes you have to pinch yourself and realise how lucky you are .

One of the greatest dribblers ever, R.I.P Jinky ,you were greased lightening agile ,the greatest Celt of them all wee Jinky

A well loved man , from a Rangers fan , you are up there with Tommy Burns , R.i.p Jinky .

As a wee boy I used to go to paradise with my da and I always found my way down to the front , Just so I could tell my pals at school that I had been close to Jinky, Probably one of the best footballers the world has ever seen

Along with Larsson he's the best Celtic player I've seen. I attended his joint testimonial with Bobby Lennox against their English friends at that time, Manchester United. RIP Jimmy from this Man United supporter!!!

It’s easy for a lifelong Celtic Supporter to wax lyrical about Jinky but when a man like Alex Ferguson had that much respect for him and him being both an Ex Rangers man and having achieved what he has signing the players he has you must have been something special. St Anne's from Hamilton v St Columba's Viewpark in the Shinwell cup, my Dad and his pals used to joke that forty years later they were still dizzy trying to stop the wee man
