This is just breathtaking! Her angelic tone yet with insane amount of power and resonance. Her transitions from full blast belts to angelic soft voice. Her tasty ad libs, not over the top, the warmth of her tone coupled with her metallic belts. There's just too much happening here, this is amazing.

Boy, the young Celine with the big hair and big eyebrows is a time when she is at her best.

Thank you rvelhuizen1985, Going through my old VHS tapes... Cassette by cassette... So many hours of recording but not so much time and money to invest the weather was quite cold and i stayed in so I did some transfer lately and a friend is now going through my Beta tapes but quality isn't as good as they use to be.. I start to record stuff back in 1982 up to 2000 and then stop... I have over 500 cassettes and went through about half so far.. So stay tune, there's more to come!! ;-)

I am surely the biggest Celine fan of that era ;-) But she touched me way more when I could really relate to her songs therefore between 1982 to 2000, I do go see concerts from time to time... and will love her forever, she's like a sister :-)

I think her belts here is on her throat compared to 1995 Paris... I mean 1995 is more supported and resonant with chest belting.. anyhow this is still a superb performance here... well she is Celine Dion!

@@Supcharged aahh...what? The mid belts in 1991 were always better, clear, strong, and ringing i don't know if you can tell the difference but in 1995 her mid belts were not very strong and even it had throaty quality, less clarity compared to her 1991 perfomance but it's not that bad.

Her sound isn't stuck in the throat, if you are talking about the more raw and grit in her voice that that is totally fine,her voice never been this clear and full in 1995 version.

She used more mix here and more chest belts. More full, not as nasal. She changed her singing technique in ‘93. I guess it was smart because she did it to protect her voice after becoming a big success internationally. Just didn’t sound as good as ‘88-‘91. To me, and many people anyway

If she’s emphasizing the wrong words don’t forget English was still a new language to her at the time… Other than that, I’m sorry you don’t like her face but what she’s doing is a combination of emoticon and doing what she needs to do to place her voice in the right place for certain notes. You can always just keep searching the Internet for other things…

@@Rosannasfriend Fair comment regarding the language aspect and I also agree that she is a consummate pro, even when that young, at technique to deliver from the right place. I have also gone to one of her concerts. But I didn't say I didn't like her face, I made no comment at all in that direction. I just said the over-dramatizing (among it being over-the-top facial contortions) detracts from any chance at genuineness. Singing isn't just hitting the right notes, it is an art, and in its best form, is delivered earnestly, so that one is invited along on the journey of emotion and place.

Prefer the original. Good technique though.

Dorota of Poland singing "calling you" is way way better the Celine.

So wrong, the control here is insane, Dorota had clean notes but far from all the different things in Celine's voice. The travel, the range and the resonance, if you don't get it, you don't get it

Celine was yelling through this whole song. Nolween Leroy did it best because she song it like the original singer Jevetta Steele did it. Celine over song it per usual!
