hello im from Ponce P.R.....i remember in the 70s here in the island we use to have a radio station...Radio Heavy 95.1 FM Mayaguez P.R....this radio station use to broadcast and play disco music 24/7....they use to play this hit as well as One Love...Hurt Me hurt me...Its sad...For the love of my man...You blow my mind with love...Alternate Currents...and also the hits of her husband Pepe Luis Soto...with the group Rice and Beans...but then with her the band was named Celi Bee and the Busy Bunch...all this music was produced and recorded in England....those are the good old days...the memories still linger in my mind...my heart my soul...i miss Radio Heavy.....un abrazo Celines donde quiera que estes...gracias por llenar nuestras vidas con tu musica...Ah....YO QUIERO UN PINCEL>>>>......

When I was living in South Florida in the '90s there was a Spanish language station that would play this during "El Super Disco Mix" which could be heard everyday at noon. Me and my brother would tune in everyday to see if they would play it while we painted the new house in 95 degree heat! We didn't care , we jumped in the pool and went back to painting the Florida house hot pink ! Memories.

I like her song very much. Her songs still lives in my remembrance.

She definitely sang much better in English than in Spanish. When she started in the 60s shw was just a girl-next-door with a sweet little voice. Then she won an international singing contest with a song her hubbie composed 'Yo quiero un pincel' (I want a paintbrush) and she took off like a rocket. She was a much more beautiful woman after she matured and became sophisticated.
