    Great comparison. They should make a watch youtube or watch video temperature test because that is the most frequent use of those. Cinebench is closer to gaming. The power draw from wall was the most revealing - showed me that Mele Quieter3C will not overheat too much during watching a movie.

    Mele Quieter3C has usb C PD. My Quieter 3Q have a usb c connector, but only for 12V, no PD. I like more my Nanopi R6S, fanless, ARM and quicker. Is my work tool, always with me. Thanks HTWingNut, good video !!!

    Thanks for the detailed comparison video. 👍 The performance and temperature benchmarks have been very helpful in my selection of a mini pc. I decided to go with the intel nuc. It would be interesting if you could test the fan noise under idle and under normal load. But I have now also heard from other reviews that the intel nuc is very quiet or almost inaudible in normal operation. Thank you and greetings

    Thanks. I have another video coming comparing N5105, N95, N100 with DDR4 and N100 with DDR5. I am doing a fan noise comparison on those, however it's tough to quantify in a video without decent equipment in a quiet room. But I'll provide what I can. Glad to see you chose the NUC. It's a solid contender and I like the solid metal construction of it. Too bad Intel is exiting the NUC game.

    @@htwingnut Yes, it's a shame that intel is getting out of the nuc business. I don't understand that at all. I'm looking forward to the comparison video you mentioned, it sounds very interesting. 👍 What I just remembered and had wondered when I saw the video. How loud or annoying does the fan actually get on the Synology you see in the background? Certainly louder than the fan from the intel nuc right?

    Interesting how single vs dual channel memory had such an impact on FPS in gaming. Then again, the memory is being shared between the application (game) and the GPU, so having an extra channel for the GPU would reduce contention.

  • @htwingnut

    @htwingnut

    Yes, I don't understand some manufacturers do not implement dual channel RAM, even if the RAM is embedded in the device. It's only beneficial, and the capability is in the chip already, so why not?

    Thanks so much, would you happen to know any cheaper ($0-$150) mini or single board pcs from large manufacturers (Intel, etc) that can have the wireless connectivity removed (or doesn’t have any)? Looking to buy a couple of them for running a Bitcoin full node and doing sensitive cryptocurrency related stuff so I’d rather not trust some lesser known small manufacturer to not have a vulnerability in their hardware.

    @@ashtonwoodturnings225 No, I didn't fix it yet, just a dab of solder will do it though. Haven't taken the time to do so yet. I would recommend the N100 only because it's newer and overall a faster CPU and you can get a device with 2.5GbE networking (if that's important to you). I am pretty impressed with the Trigkey G5 overall.

    Hello, in gaming would there be much difference if it only has 4gb in single channel?

  • @htwingnut

    @htwingnut

    Жыл бұрын

    4GB would be very limiting because it would then only be able to use 512MB of system RAM for video RAM and 3.5GB for other stuff. Dual Channel will give generally 10-15% (or more) performance benefit depending on the game.

    @@javierg.5418 What laptop might I ask? Hopefully it has room for another 4GB stick of RAM. If so then you can try and if you need, add another 4GB stick. 4GB these days is barely enough to run Windows let alone a game unless it's something like FTL, Vampire Survivors, or much older game like Fallout New Vegas.

    I'd like to say which, but that depends on what you need/want? SD Card? NVMe or SATA M.2? Need 2.5" SSD option? more than 8GB RAM? The Beelink seems like the best bargain, because it includes SSD and RAM and has a 2.5" SATA drive slot. But it also comes down to price. The MeLe is a nice little basic compact unit, although limited expansion options but includes SD card.
