"Cuban" isn't a race either, and Lochte's mom is either completely or almost completely Caucasian. White Spaniards colonized Cuba for around four hundred years, and many Cubans are fully white. Don't know why people need this little tip, but it seems that many do.

Cool Kidd depends. You can be part Cuban, American, and Puerto Rican. They are all ethnicities. Like Americans, Latinos come in many colors. But Ryan Lochte is white even though his mother is Cuban. I wouldn't consider him biracial. I have a friend who is biracial because her mother is a white Puerto Rican and father is a black American. Her cousins are white because both of there parents are white, eventhough one is Puerto Rican and the other is Italian.

Aura, i disagree with you stating that ethnicity has nothing to do with physical features. I am West Indian Creole, plenty of us have simlarities in our cilture but our racial heritage varies. Some have more african physical features than others . Just like African ethnics who have different physical features. West African and East Africans do not look the same.

Mark Lastmark Charlie never legally changed his name. if you notice in his past moives he used his real name. Sheen are thier film acting names as Martin Sheen never changed his name. Despite they have some Irish ancrstry, they are't no different than any other white Spanaird from Latin America if thier acestors came from the same place, Spain. Mz Feisty, There is no such thing as looking Puerto Rican as they are like rainbows that come in all different shades. There are many white ones like Ricky Martin. My father is white as snow a blonde blue eye. I have a lot of blondes on my Puerto Rican side that look like normal white people that you see every in America. Mariah is no different than me. My mom is black and my father is a Puerto Rican but hes still a white boy. He looks white as snow with blonde hair and blue eyes that blends right in with the rest of those blonde Scandinavians. Mariah's father is indeed black regardless were he was from. Latin American very much the same like the U.S with lots of racial diversity as you can be of any race. Actor Faizon Love is black and he's and Afro-Cuban born. He's famously for his role as "BigWorm in the movie Friday. Slavery started in Latin America long before the U.S as there are more black people down there then there are in the U.S combined. Slavery in Puerto Rico went from 1501-1873. Slavery in the U.S started in the 1600s and ended in 1861.

Multi racial a trend! Yes, in gringoland. In the rest of America (continent!), we are mixed since 1500. Well, except Argentina.

Guys watch some DNA Tests. Many African-Americans who thought they were full African (and/or with a little bit of Native American) only got ~60% African and the rest European. Halsey's father looks very mixed with European so Halsey might not even be a 20% African. I think it's super annoying when people claim they are black or even full black (aka a color and strictly speaking not a race) when they clearly don't look like it. Tons of people say "Blacks come in all colors" completly ignoring the fact that lighter African-Americans are heavily mixed from centuries back.

her dad is probably more than half black. i believe his mother was either biracial or mixed, but yeah, i would say she's about 25% at most black. I certainly don't know why she calls herself a black woman, if that's true. She is a mixed woman for sure.

Mariah Carey is biracial too? I was expecting to see her on the list as well...

I believe while her mother is white her Venezuelan father is black and Indigenous (to that region-Caribbean.. possibly Taino?) So, biracial or multi-racial.

Hispanic is just a dumb ass label fabricated in the 1970s buy Richard Nixon. It has no real meaning. My father is one of those blonde white Puerto Ricans and he was listed as white for color that was born before the 70s.

Hispanic means you come from a spanish speaking country While latinx means you come from latin america meaning countries that were colonised by latin europeans (portuguese, spanish etc) . Also hispanic is not a race. A lot and i mean a lot of hispanics are Caucasian

Hispanics come in all races. Usually black, white, or mixed with indigenous. Lochte’s mother is a white Hispanic. So technically he’s not “bi-racial” lol

Gabeandbabe are interracial vloggers and their kids are white passing. I have a cousin that is half jamaican/white and she is white passing too. The black parent does not have to be "mixed* inorder for the kid to look white passing, sometimes it just happens and white genes dominate. At the end of the day, who really cares about this stuff? I feel like Americans are obsessed with race.

People need to realize that being Puerto Rican is not a race. There ate black Puerto Rican and white Puerto Ricans. It's not a race it's a nationality.

Thats great it doesnt bother "you". But in America it is a HUGE deal. You dont ever see interracial couples on TV because it's a HUGE deal in America. You may see maybe 1 or 2 out of hundreds of TV shows and movies.

You can be ethnically Latino, but be racially white, black, indigenous, etc.

To everyone saying that being half Hispanic doesn’t make you biracial: What if your Hispanic parent is brown and appears to obviously have Indigenous blood? I’d say that makes you biracial. That and although “Hispanic” isn’t a race, Hispanic cultures are WAY different than White American culture. I think it’s just fine if someone only identifies as half white and half Hispanic.

This! One of my cousins on my paternal side of the family has a light brown complexion (we're Mexican fyi). She is married to a non-Hispanic white man and they have two kids together (11 year son and two year old daughter). They were suppose to have a third just this past January, but unfortunately she miscarried back in June. The kids look more like their father than her. You would think of them as ordinary white kids if you saw them in person and not know that their mother is Mexican with light brown skin.

Sometimes make up, eyeliner, plastic surgery, And liposunction could play a huge role in making someone appear to be part of a certain group

Just for clarification, are Cuban or Puerto Rican a race? I thought they were nationalities but ok. Can’t you be a WHITE Cuban with a WHITE British person and give birth to a WHITE baby? Or a BLACK Puerto Rican with a BLACK Haitian and have a BLACK baby? Because if thats the case, after 27yrs of living, i’ve just learnt that i too am biracial seeing as i have a BLACK Ghanaian parent and a BLACK Jamaican parent. 🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️

After reading many of the negative comments regarding Logic and Halsey being biracial or not-it is disturbing. First, I am "so-called" bi-racial myself. When my hair is thick and curly then I look more mixed. However, I happen to be very fair for a mixed chick and get confused with White, Hispanic, Arab, and mediterranean types. I grew up in the "hood" and I carry my "ghetto" membership card with me wherever I go. I only knew my Black side (father) growing up as far as culture is concerned. When people hear me speak they know instantly that I am Black. I have no reason to front and all of this colorism and ignorance on the platform is just plain stupid! Logic and Halsey are whoever they want to be. They have a choice...

The first chick is not biracial, but a full white person. Her dad is a white Puerto rican.

Imagine a world where people only see souls not color, where they understood that we are all temporary, navigating through this world..... most loss, others faking who they truly are, while all just wishing to be understood, accepted, valued and loved. Sigh. Humans! It's very possible that we will never get it.

Halsey didn't know if she was supposed to love TLC or Britney??? I loved both. I'm Asian American and I never sat around thinking about whether I should like white or black or Asian singers. I listened and liked who I liked without thinking of race or ethnicity. I also listened to Asian music but I never thought to myself "this is what I'm 'supposed to' listen to."

There’s some confusion about Race / ethnicity / nationality. Being “Latino” isnt a race. Lochte is White - in Latin America, in the US wherever. There are Afro Latinos, White Latinos, Indigenous & Loads of Mixed Latinos. Sooo… before we talk someone being Biracial… let’s remember that

That happens to my kids a lot. Once someone walked up to my daughter and asked her did she know this man. Do you speak spanish. My daughter said yes this is my grand father...(who is Nigerian by the way). Then another time the teacher called me and asked is that my son's grandfather. Is he my father. I said yes. She sounded like she was in shock on the other end of the phone.
