I remember my daddy getting me out of bed late at nite during parties my parents threw. He used to twirl me around to his Jackie Wilson album. This was in 1966. I still have it after all these years. I sure miss those days. RIP Mr. Wilson.

Garwin Wayne Nat Tarnapol of the Brunswick Label stole all of Jackie's money. That label stiffed a lot of young, upcoming girl groups as well. I know Jackie's history but how the hell with a voice like his and the moves is almost overlooked these days makes me sick. Only MJ announced his name at an award's show and I believe (not sure) that he had bought a head stone for his grave. God Bless MJ for that. He made those damned scheisters millions and died a pauper!

When I got out of the Army in the mid-70's, I was living in the Bay Area and I answered an ad in the Oakland Tribune asking for musicians to audition for a "special group" being put together for shows to be done in the greater Bay Area. I went, tried out, and WON the audition as the bass player!! Then we all found out we were to be the back-up group for Jackie Wilson's part of Dick Clark's Good Ol' Rock and Roll Revue, already going on out on the east coast. We rehearsed Jackie tunes for about six weeks until the promoter came in one Monday (Sept. 29th, 1975 to be exact) ans sadly told us the show was CANCELLED!! He had just heard that Jackie collapsed in the middle of the Cherry Hill, NJ segment of the show. He passed away 8 years later. Such a sad turn of events.

@Clinton Outten Agreed! A replier and I were discussing Otis Redding's death! It was stated that he died wanting to get out of his recording contract (according to James Brown's son). Also, his father was said to had been poisoned due to this conflict! My only arguement is if Otis Redding was murdered, it had to have happened on the plane being as though there's footage of him strapped to his seat being pulled from the wreckage! The question is who murdered him and where did the murder take place?🤷🏿‍♂️🤔 Other artists have died behind this industry, too many! It's been at the point, just make music from the heart, the soul, for fun!!!!

Elvis had great respect for black artists but was particularly close to Wilson, James brown.

Monica Ross Hi! Look up the Two Trials of Sam Cooke. A lot of info on this great man. They murdered him. They did not want this man of color, managing, and owning his own company as well. Etta James viewed his body. She said his nose was almost torn of and she said he was given a severe beating.

It's to my understanding that Elvis (not Dick Clark) paid Jackie's medical bills until Elvis death in 1977. Great artists in the music industry is known to get f**ked over when it comes to their royalties and of course, Jackie was no exception. He was one of the few rare artists back then who could put on a helluva show with his dynamite voice and smooth dance moves. I hope a production management company will consider doing a movie on this extraordinary artist. Thank you for doing this video, I was hoping for this. R.I.P. J.W. "Lonely Teardrops" for you 😔

I became a Jackie Wilson fan because I was a Michael Jackson fan and saw Jackson's American Dream movie and found out he was inspired by Jackie and James Brown. It's hard to think that Jackie was younger than Usher is right now when his accident happened that landed him in a vegetative state for basically the last decade of his life. Sad, sad story bro. This guy was one of the most underrated singers of all time. Even classically trained singers praised his voice and singing range at the time. People should really look up this man's music.
