I don't think he was being rude at all. I've seen the actual interview and she was unprofessional and he called her out on it and she got flustered and became rude so he just gave it back to her. She called Morgan Freeman "Freeman" then when he asked her about that, she proceeded to call him "Morgy" or something silly and Jesse was obviously not amused that she called his colleague a nickname when she has no idea who he is outside of being an actor. She then insults him a few times so... Sure, he may have been a bit mean but that's also just him. I think he had every right to be frustrated with her.

She was rude first. The way I interpreted it is she became frustrated because he figured out her trick. Then implied that the trick wasn't as realistic for him because he had a fat thumb. She very subtly insulted him, and watch her body language right after that, and you'll see.

Thing Thang or maybe she learns to memorize a few simple questions like a professional journalist and to keep her objectivity like a professional journalist and not engage in petty bickering with your interview subject. Maybe that would be the best way to go about it, dontcha think?

I worked as a PA on one of Jessie's movies, The Education of Charlie Banks (directed by Fred Durst lollll), and spent some time hanging out with him. In my experience with him what you see is what you get. Awkward, sarcastic, but overall definitely a nice dude.

lol its the other way around. people defy their own logic if somebody famous is in that chair being interviewed. the carrot top thing was an awkward misunderstanding possibly. but the way he mocks her for writing stuff on her hand and uses the softball team line. or his condescending tone when he does the card trip. you cant just twist things around just because he is famous or successful. he was clearly being rude, I wont judge tho maybe he had a bad day we dont know what any celebrity or person we dont know go through on a daily basis, famous or not. but in this short clip he was definitely being rude and toxic, making bad energy. maybe he is a great guy or he misunderstood also but either way what he said he meant, its something about intonation and face expression indicating he dislikes the girl

Jesse Is actually a really good actor. Him being "Rude" is something that I would agree on him being so. He came from whatever in the part of the world for a 2 minute interview being interviewed by a Unskilled interviewer. If people say "it wasnt her fault blah blah, or she forgot her questions" , it her job to be prepared and ask . Lol simple as that.

It doesn't matter if she was unprepared. Nobody is perfect when they start out. You know actors don't always give oscar-worthy performances when they are starting out either. You learn as you go. She could be a great interviewer later. Does Eisenberg, that arrogant little fuck, have to potentially ruin her career by pointing out all her flaws, and sabotage her interview by tearing down her confidence and making her want to cry? Sorry, but there is no excuse for that. Someone should tear him down and see how well he can act a scene after he loses confidence.

It was recently brought to my attention that she is a person whose intentional "awkwardness" is supposed to be funny, but in this case it appears that she just slightly annoyed Eisenburg and he was going to make a joke, which she also ruined and further annoyed him. He is torn down frequently during scenes, but himself, but his own disorder. He's also torn down by others (Jennifer Lawrence, specifically) who treat him like his disorder is a joke.

@@SalvableRuin this is their profession. There are ranks. Someone working as an assistant should never disrespect an executive no matter who is in the wrong. It’s stupid and ultimately self sabotaging. You can complain and point fingers at him, but if the roles were reversed he would be the one looking like an out of place asshole. Everyone’s life is equal, but not everyone is equal at the workplace.. whether that’s at an interview, setup, a corporation, a government office, etc.. know your place. Interviewers wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for the interviewees.

1:21 Jesse: "Now, do you remember your card? Are you thinking of it?" Girl: "...sure." Jesse: "That's not important." That was the most condescending slight in the whole video.

At a press junket, the celebrity stays seated and the reporters rotate in. That's what he meant by "You're on my time," meaning she's the one who only has a limited amount of time so he doesn't know why she said she wants to wrap it up (but she seemed to be implying she would go after the trick was over to incentive him to do it, but "wrap it up" makes it sound like he's lagging).

If you watch the whole interview she insults him first by referring to his thumb as fat....I don't think he was rude, I think it's his sense of humor, kind of sarcastic. I think she was kind of trying to be cute and flirty and I have a feeling he just enjoys messing with people a little bit...

From what I saw, and please feel free to disagree with me, if the interview went bad it wasn't due to anything the celebrity, in this case Jesse Eisenberg did. It's pretty obvious this so-called female interviewer wasn't prepared like she should have been. Writing things to say or ask on your hand prior to conducting an interview is tacky to say the least. I'm quite sure she had more than enough time to study and memorize the questions.

I think the Carrot Top comment meant that she came to the interview with props. Just like Carrot Top does. He is rarely without some type of prop. A group of us ran into him on the Vegas strip and people swarmed him for autographs and he was quite friendly and pulled out props and did a two minute impromptu performance without signing one autograph. I loved it.

i actually feel sad for her. People are saying she's dumb, to me, she's actually just being Kind, Humble, smiling to cover the hidden attacks she's getting from this man. Which is unfair, he in fact, is treating her like she is dumb, and no one should do that to someone, especially who isn't being harsh to someone else, or to you. He on the other hand is being insulting, joking or not, the term joke was to make people laugh, here she's smiling to hide what is far from laughter. If you want to joke, don't make someone feel below you. Its just wrong. She's there for a job, he's there for a job. Finish it and go home. Why the extra effort to make it uncomfortable.

+Abigale Kirsten exactly this is her JOB, she isn't taking it too seriously if she can't do research on who she's interviewing and has to write down he questions she's asking on her hand and disrespecting the person she's interviewing.... he made a joke because she brought props to the interview just like carot top brings props to stage, she took the joke to heart when it was a lighthearted joke and got super offended and it went downhill from there... :/

She rushed him. Said its his fault that she'd cry. Plus, considering how she acted, I wouldn't go as far to say she's "dumb" per say, but she didn't really give off an air of professionalism. And I don't mean in a casual laid back interview way, I mean the writing on the hand thing, the not remember the card she had, asking him about a card trick and then basically telling him to hurry up. Cmon now. What's with making Eisenberg seem like a villain? People are acting like he's throwing rocks at a puppy.

He was just being playful but she took it seriously...

They aren't celebrities...they are people! You know? Those things that breathe, eat, and sleep just like us!

+Michael Daniel Costello You're obviously basing your opinion on one movie and not on who he is. And also, as a journalist myself, I can tell you now that she was doing a very, very poor job. On my first day in a reporting class in college, we watched this video, and once it was finished, my professor said, "You see? This is what you DON'T do during an interview." This girl was far too opinionated and cared more about what she thought than her interviewee did. That's not how good journalism works.

I think what he meant by carrot top is that she had those cards just in her pocket and doesn't carrot top use a lot of props so I guess he meant that she is the interviewer that has a lot of props.

She fucked this up the moment she said carrot top was awful, and said she'd cry. The guy was pretty cool about things

She works for a children/teen network show. If you want something serious watch 60mins or a Babara Walters interview which Eisenburg certainly hasn't earned the right to be interviewd by. This girl is probably only 14 years old and Eisenburg is totally out of line here. He must think he's the most cleaver man but in reality hes a freagin goof. There is a charming and playful way to let someone know they're unprepared and then there is this. In his head he probably thinks he's flirting with her. That's how out of touch this moron is.

Jesse Eisenber was perfectly fine in this interview! She started being hostile for no reason! He wasn't making fun of what she had written in her hand, it seemed like he was just trying to playfully spark conversation. She was the one who said Carrot Top was horrible, not him, he was just making a reference to her cards as props. She asks him about his card trick but acts like she doesn't care about it when he's actually performing it. And she's the interviewer, who's supposed to be interested in what he has to say, yet she's also the one who needs to "wrap it up"? He doesn't care, he got paid already, and there are twenty other interviewers in line after her! It just looks like she was uncomfortable, especially considering how confident Eisenberg always seems. Pretty girls can't handle guys with more confidence than them, it's what makes them woo

Sometimes when actors try to trivialize interviews like this they come off as self-important, when really they are just being dry and playful. I think he was trying to tease her, but the way it came out sounded like he was patronizing her for not being able to remember simple questions. Most people would take offense, give her a break. I like that she didnt kowtow to him. He was totally passive aggressive. He used to be more humble, I think this is some sort of mask

The reason the Carrot Top comment seemed so bad was because the woman said Carrot Top was horrible before Isenberg got out what he wanted to say. She handed Isenberg a deck of cards and the comment was to mean, she was like Carrot Top, because she brought her own props as Carrot Tops does. He only asked her if she knew who Carrot Top was, so he could make that comparison. When she gave her opinion about Carrot Top, instead of just saying she knew who he was, it made the initial meaning of what Isenberg was stressing sound as if he was now comparing the horribleness of Carrot Top with her interviewing skills, which was not the real meaning of what he was saying.
