Because despite his occasional moments of being a total asshole, most of the time he was super funny, charming and almost always self-deprecating. I've been a fan of his since i was a kid in the 80's, but once in a while, he can be a dick. His behavior in the video clips is not the norm for him, but it's not a one-time thing, either.

Indeed. The only legit complaints of stupidity/creepiness of visitors on Criag's show were those that didn’t seem to know that it was the premise, not creepy reality host dude but rather a show stupidity joke about such shows/hosts, that was an intrinsic part of the show and only went wrong by accident at coupla times when he stumbled or the guests didn’t know/wasn’t prepped or personality for it…. Basically, they’d been put signed up, probably by agent, blind to what show they were going on. And Craig never meant harm…. He'd back off if he realized things were going terribly wrong. Human misunderstandings just happened. The goofiest fuck in late night at time time made an effort in his serious side of monologues and interviews to show respect and stand up to bulllying and disrespect given to celebs and non-celebs. For all he’s accidentally made a rare human goof he never maliciously pursued discomfort or harassment like these interviews, so this thumbnail is clickbait inaccuracy. The actual examples in the video are terrible and I really feel for a number of those folks who wanted some privacy or were put in horribly prying or physically inappropriate in their clear lack of consent that was overrode. And folks are complaining about those who didn’t put up with that stuff and defended themselves. Sigh.

Wow, Letterman managed to surpass Andy Dick right there -- am I the first person to say this? I doubt it. Very, very creepy. I managed to live longer than Letterman (at that point in time he was I think younger than I am now) without doing anything like that even once. You might say, ""You ain't on TV, you never had the opportunity to do that to a female celeb" and u would be right, but I think that makes it worse because he did it in front of millions and that would stop me in my tracks, not encourage me. His own security, ala Jimmy Kimmel show when Dick and Trump's daughter was on, should have dragged him away. WTF is wrong with him? I suddenly have lost all respect, I never heard of this incident. She took it very well considering how effing disgusting that was. I can tell you that if I tried this with women I know, I might well have been killed. Seriously.

Yup, as I replied to another on here the clickbait thumbnail was stupid. He made a few human bumbles over a long running series of years of interviews, but he never maliciously pursued prying or bullying and actively spoke against it.
