I think of it more as a hobby.
Most of these "hidden" talents aren't hidden. The People have used them professionally. That means, by definition, they aren't hidden. Bullshyte subject.
It must be fascinating how actors pick up various skills preparing for roles, or have them grow into hobbies. I mean, based on what little I have seen, you could put Keanu Reeves in a SWAT stack and he'd be good to clear a room, or how people like Steve McQueen or Tom Cruise must be hella good behind anything with a wheel. Harrison Ford is an expert carpenter because that's what he did before Star Wars.
