Honestly I don’t listen to much rap but I can definitely tell that Eminem is a better rapper than MGK. But I’m still a bigger MGK fan only because he’s such a versatile artist. In his new album he mashes up rap with rock and a bit of pop and he even sings some parts which I think is really cool. His music also tells really incredible stories about his own life struggles whether that’s with his past, his drug addiction, family, or being a single dad. He even makes so many tributes to the people he’s looked up to but lost like Nipsey, Lil Peep, Mac Miller, and Chester Bennington. Whatever it is, it’s relatable and it really gets you feeling a type of way. I think MGK is tryna move past his whole “im a better rapper” phase and he’s understanding now that he’s not just a rapper and there’s more to him. So before people go on to judge him for one thing he did, maybe give this guy a chance and listen to his real music.

Em also has instrumentals from his albums that mix rap and rock. Check out Survival from MMLP2, it's a great example of this. Also Til I Collapse from TES. Em also pays homage to legends in rap he was influenced by, similar to MGK with rock legends.

But you gotta realise that these sorts of beefs with popular artists make the smaller artist look like they're just looking for attention, whether its true or not. At the end of the day I doubt they have anything against you personally. Em is my favourite rapper of all time and third fav artist of all time behind my favourite bands Slipknot and SOAD, but that's cuz he has a huge impact on me and my life. So, why was MGK not allowed to come up in the first place? Sway said he invited him and then had to tell him he couldnt come up until the beef was squashed.....and then Eminem says he didnt see the comment about Hailey until a year and a half later...? And then said he dissed him over something even more petty, but we arent talking about the dis track, we are talking about why he wasnt allowed in Shade45...its not making sense. Am I missing something? I gotta wonder if theres some credibility on MGKs side until its stated why he wasnt allowed on Shade45 in the first place.

Yo, for everyone who hasn’t realized it, em and mgk are both FANTASTIC artists. Sure, em got the better of mgk in the beef, but that’s what em does. He lyrically annihilates everything. But that didn’t stop mgk from doing what he does, which is to make heartfelt music that connects with his fans. Both artists are top tier and it’s a shame they have beef.

Em knows that Not Alike doesn’t contain the petty reason he cited here, or else it would’ve been clear in the diss exchange. I think holding a press conference to have to additionally explain himself against MGK speaks for itself. Em could have raised the bar in this diss battle, and provoke an interesting exchange for the culture, but he was shell shocked and kept in excuse ladened, dismissive, and slim shady trip territory (nobody believes he is still the same slim shady artist including himself)
