Nauryz is the main holiday of the year for both the Kazakhs and many peoples of Asia, celebrated for more than five thousand years. This is a holiday of spring, the renewal of nature, the beginning of a new year, a new life ... this is a holiday of worship of nature. Nauryz is celebrated on March 22 on the day of the spring equinox. On this day, heavenly bodies: constellations and stars, after a yearly cycle, come to the points of their original stay and begin a new path.
The Kazakhs call Nauryz "Ұлыстың ұлы күні", which in translation into Russian means "Great Day of the People", its name "Nauryz" consists of two ancient Iranian words "know" (new) and "rose" (day).
