In 1967, the Ministry of Culture and Art in Persia, for the first time, commissioned a Persian composer to write an opera. That composer was Ahmad Pejman, who has since solidified his position as one of the most influential contemporary composers in the country. Nearly six decades later, the Iranshahr Orchestra in Los Angeles, in its latest concert, honored Ahmad Pejman for his contributions and performed his works.
