Amazing that TZY doesn't even celebrate after such an intense match. So humble. If it was Marin she would have screamed until all the bird flew away. So glad TZY won, take a seat Marin.

Carolina is a great player, unfortunately her poor attitude in court and lack of respect for her opponents make people to root against her. She will use any trick to distract and unsettle her opponent. Even almost at the end she was complaining of lights distracting her and people stared booing.

It's a delight when everyone is booing Marin whilst screaming and cheering for Tai Tzu Ying. It pays to show manners other than skills and talent. Watching end year of 2020 and it does not getting old to me. What a wonderful match to show a stature of calm, collected and well mannered athlete u are TTY. Kudos!!!

I believe this one was among the best WS matches in recent times.

the way marin pass the shuttle back is rude, don't tell me that you don't know where your opponent in gonna serve and you pass it back to the wrong box, what 9 out of 10 times? Not to mention your annoying scream

Vincent Chan Hitting the shuttle 2cm pass the middle of the court on the ground, then opponent has to walk all the way to the net to pick it up, that's dirty

somehow we dont see it in mens game.. each player have high regard for opponent.. except for axelson and antonsen. they both somehow are not compatible..

Saya jg paling benci klu lihat Carolina Marin klu bertanding krn org nya sombong, suka Nunda pertandingan lg & lawan sdh mau service dia msh banyak alasan. 😢😢😢.

the way carolina marin gives the ball to the opponent is bad, besides, she is trying to delay time after losing scores. the umpire should warn her at the match.

what pissed me off is she actually already winning all the major titles (1 og medal, 2 wc titles, and 1 all england) so why should she act like that when she's already winning anything ? I just don't get it.

Congrat TTY! The best backhand in women's singles.

My perception is the Olympic champ should be more respectful to her opponent and the game. Winning it is not the only deciding factor in determining how great you are as a player to this sport.

Already seen this match 4 times. But it’s fresh and exciting still to me.

THANK YOU for your sensible comment. I can’t fathom how people don’t understand that not everyone is loud and not everyone is quiet. Plus, it’s an intense sport, just like football. Screaming and yelling are normal. Idk why people expect the ambience in badminton to be like it is in chess. A lot of other women players yell. Men also yell all the time, even the best players and no one says a thing, instead they find it amusing. Just because there are “polite” players like Tzu Ying, Ratchanok and Japanese players who are more quiet on court, it doesn’t mean that all players have to hold back or suppress their emotions and behave like them.

I seriously doubt the accuracy of the speed of smash shown by the hawk eye at 1:09:02, 366KPH. Lin Dan's JUMP SMASH on the same court and side was only 370KPH, and Chong Wei had one smash at 375KPH. Even visually their smashes were significantly faster. They can't be both accurate...

You're right, there's definitely something wrong with smash speeds. IIRC it's been like this since as early as the 2015 India Open, when I saw MS players hit 370 kph winners. How can their smashes be faster than Fu Haifeng's 322?

Well that is reasonable because after bwf started using hawk eye, the method of measuring speed changed. Supposedly the hawk eye camera can have higher fps and spatial resolution, so it can measure the speed of the shuttle in a much shorter time interval. Since the badminton shuttle decelerate rapidly after leaving the racket, the closer and shorter time it can measure, the higher the speed.

Marin has not won a superseries title in 2016 and up to this date... Guess her dirty tactics are not working anymore..Maybe she should try a dirtier one Haha..

Marin behaves like a spoiled brat. Gamesmanship, delays, unnecessary screaming on every point won and a lack of respect for the opponent. Not a role model for professional sports.

Empire should give a warning, red card, even better, to Marin for delaying the game

Looks like Marin was a spoilt brat from a very young age that extended to her on court antics ie not returning the bird properly at least 5 times and other tantrums.

My interest in badminton was rekindled solely by the appearance of TTY with her artful skills and demeanour (a complete player) and the commentaries of Gillian Clark. TTY has great internal kung fu. May she abide in well-being.
