Yep, Aggies are going to clutch their pearls and play the “woe was me” victim card as long as they can, but this is the reality of competitive collegiate D1 sports. The Aggies had no shame when they brought in the greatest recruiting class of all time in college football by promising those kids millions of dollars and then refused to pay them, which ended up in a mass exodus of kids from that recruiting class.

The Aggies have some weird cult traditions. They are a cult. Schloss mentioned several times how he didn't like the reprehensible behavior of their fans, and stupid traditions. He couldn't run out of sheep land fast enough. They also fired 25 more people the other day in their athletic department. They are bleeding money after paying Dumbo to leave. When you hire from your rival you are admitting at least three things: 1) They’re better than you (sometimes it’s true and you have to be honest, but not in such a direct way), 2) their coach is the best in the business, and 3) you can’t beat them unless you steal their stuff. Aggies would hate making any of those admissions. Who was the last head coach in any of the big three sports that A&M hired from an in-conference school, much less from Austin?

I think there's a bit of a loophole on the timing question. Friends can talk about their 'ideal scenarios' without it being professional. 'If it were me, I'd want a good cash deal, a commitment to facilities and free reign to run my program at one of the top programs'. 'My ideal baseball coach would be a guy who can talk to our donors, align with our department and commit to running a world class program.' You can cover pretty much everything theoretically and then close in 12 hours on an actual professional inquiry easily.

It’s hilarious that at the time of this interview Texas boosters, like Cedric Golden, still didn’t understand what kind of massive crap burger they were eating with this coup. He didn’t understand that the lie heard around the world was only the beginning of the character reveal on Schlossnagle, who told one of his players that he looked like a little leaguer on a major league field right before he went to the plate in the CWS final series. Texas, you got a gem. Keep gloating.

Like Schloss said his school is ( some podunk school ) …….Basically his alma mater is not TAM or Texas….. People expect Coaches to have all of this loyalty to a school . Well that’s not how it works. Coaches just like anyone else want to be in the best position they can where ever that may be. Coaches have loyalty to people when it comes down to it. Chris and Schloss used to walk the 3 mile loop around TCU every morning. They were homies at the end of the day. I’m feel like them two talked about this a long time ago…….Look at TAMs football Coach. He’s already worked at TAM so him taking the job wasn’t a surprise. Neither did Trev Alberts, i.e., didn't care. The real question is what's going on over at TexAgs. Liucci's employee was sent to ask the question. That was the terroristic question. Liucci knows Aggie football will never win it all. Baseball was the only hope for Championship relevancy. It was personal. Schloss going to Austin was going to cost TexAgs money and prestige. Interesting to compare the reactions between Nebraska / Trev separation and Schloss going to Texas. Nebraska was also crushed but had class. Just hope the Aggies don't get wound up and do something stupid. They're capable of doing awful things. Life and death things. Please Aggies turn it down.
