CECM for MK5 Golf

Ойын-сауық

I got a request from "Tonx" in the OBDeleven forum to do a quick run-through of setting the indicator lights to blink after fiddling around in OBDeleven.
I recorded the steps in VCDS, but the sequence is the same for OBDeleven.

Hello Sir, I need your help again... I try to retrofit multifunctional steering wheel from golf mk5 to golf mk5. I was thinking that I will not have to change steering wheel control module because on the sticker it says: 1K0-953-549-AG (Highline). But when i try to enable it using VCDS it was saying error 31 coding out of range. Than I notice on the VCDS the part number is 1K0-953-549-AF (Midline). Any suggestion, or buying new steering wheel control module from Highline? Sorry for bothering you ! I appreciate your answer

You are not bothering me at all. I assume you already have the revision "C" clock-spring for compatibility with ALL steering wheels. Unfortunately in this case, you would need to change the module as it does NOT support at least the 1.3 LIN version as stipulated in the Ross-Tech link below. Your case is a good example of why one shouldn't look at what is written on the sticker (as the plastic casing can always be swapped (if the car had a previous owner that needed work done on that module). The wiki page below shows what modules you can get for your car. In your case, you should only choose the Highline modules. You may ask any question you wish wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Steering_Wheel_Control_Module_Versions

@@MatthewTaylor3 Slip Rings Type 2: 1K0-959-653-C and 1K0-959-653-D probably one of both because SW Control Module 1K0-953-549-AG and 1K0-953-549-AF both have Type 2 Slip Ring. Or must be 1K0-959-653-C ?
