@LoboAscuridad 3 octaves is actually extremely big in opera. In opera, you have to project every note over an orchestra without a microphone and even when you have a microphone, it would be about 2 meters away. In pop music, it is not too hard to have 3 octaves because you have a microphone just a millimeter away from your mouth. watch?v=6D84nvM9UHI The guy was filming from the back row but you can hear her crystal clear without a mic + she held a 27-second-note :)

E3-Eb6? It's normal for a trained vocalist, especially a colotura soprano. But her lower range is impressive for a colotura soprano. Eb6 is kind of the meat and potatoes of a truly, truly good supported upper range of a lyric or colotura soprano. The biggest range I've heard on KZread is Nicola Sedda, going from very low fry to whistle so high I can't hear it properly any more - but he does it all very quietly into a microphone and I've not seen him wowing the world's operatic stages... The sheer ability to make very high and low noises is not the be-all-and-end all to singing well, it's how nicely you can sing your range in songs. Plus classical singers sing in large theatres with large orchestras and no mike.

@granten0re She is remarkably talented & unusually accomplished. What does it matter what she looks like? No one ever complains about an instrumentalist's embouchure or how they hold their instrument. Why do some people find it necessary to share their discomfort with her expressions with the world? She obviously enjoys performing & her enthusiasm is infectious. If her performance is not to your taste then go listen to someone with a placid exterior. I find her joyful expressions charming

@LAMbGuild12 жыл бұрын
Excellent point & I agree. 2nd reason: She's an opera singer AKA stage actress. Facial expressions are a major part of stage acting. & there may be a 3rd reason. Its like her signature, its what sets her apart! A wise performer uses natural differences to their advantage. Bartoli created hers - even BETTER - which means she ROCKS! We may not like it but we clearly WILL remember! While we are laughing at someone because they're different, they may be laughing at us b/c we're all the same.

The beauty of a singer isn´t this Top-Model-outer-appearance-beauty, but the intensity, that´s needed, to produce high quality music. To sing notes - both, high and low - you have to work with all of your body - breath, muscles, posture...it´s like sport. Who wants to look nice while seriously singing: Listen - forget about it, you can´t have both. Who wants to see a "nice" face while listening to music: Watch out for the CD-Cover. Or change your taste to music, that´s hummed...

Specifically, my range extends from about f2 when my voice is extremely well rested, to about C6 on a good day, and I totally would record my voice if I had the means to do so :/ My middle-ish notes are really what kill me though, because in general I have mezzo-soprano voice, meaning my highest notes are a little unnatural sounding, and my low notes are fairly weak when in falsetto and not in the modal voice.

@FloridianWolf "Prendi, per me sei libero" - the Malibran version - search for Malibran Rediscovered Part II watch?v=QGR1uYtRVSc :)
That's a fantastic range! I do hope you make it in this business, the world sure could use more countertenors.
which performance was 0:37???
Poeple must must be dumb to judge her performance by her image. Im sure you have all seen the the image of the blind woman holding a balance. Obviously you can't judge if she's ugly or makes unusual faces. Her true beauty, the one you need to look, is in her voice. All the ones that made dumb comments should listen, not watch this video. Learn to appreciate.
Cecilia Bartoli has a magnificent voice and also makes the best facial expressions. Awesome to watch, wonderful and sometimes very very funny.
I love her facial expressions, they're so funny. :D
Which aria is at 0:38?
Excellent point & I agree. 2nd reason: She's an opera singer AKA stage actress. Facial expressions are a major part of stage acting. & there may be a 3rd reason. Its like her signature, its what sets her apart! A wise performer uses natural differences to their advantage. Bartoli created hers - even BETTER - which means she ROCKS! We may not like it but we clearly WILL remember! While we are laughing at someone because they're different, they may be laughing at us b/c we're all the same.
what song is at 0:38-0:40???
This is my ringtone now!)
may I please have a list of the songs in order from darkest to lightest?
OMG! bravo!!!
What are the names of the arias in the first 19 seconds? I would especially like to know which aria had the low E in it.
@LohengrinT do you have a recording of her fille from la scala? id love to hear it!
@kouldeliee Everyone keeps telling me this! I'll be making a list in the video description sometime soon...!
I find her very easy on the Ear and Eye she has a great voice and i love how she expresses herself
what is the high Eb from!?
what song is that at 0:29?
@killerbunny123123 the last one is "Riedi al soglio" from Rossini´s Zelmira
wow that beautiful
@kouldeliee No I'm planning to make a list with where the videos came from...that's what people are asking too :)
amazing 👌👌👌
What is the name of the aria in the lowest note?
@user-qc1tl9wp3z
6 жыл бұрын
"Prendi, per me sei libero. Malibran. Donizetti's L'elisir D' amor". 00:40-00:41 - the third note; 2:02 - the lowest note
I apologize too. My original comment might have made it seem like I was talking down on Cecilia. She does have a very perfected, impressive range.
songs at 0:38?
@killerbunny123123 The high e-flat is from "Riedi al soglio" by Rossini, I think.
@LohengrinT Thanks for the heads up! :) I'll make sure to include them. I LOVE Podles...incredible woman & voice!
@SsteinwayS She also sing a high E natural in the aria Al tuo sen fortunato from L'anima del filosofo by Haydn and a High F in a video of a lesson with a mother in the video cecilia bartoli: A Portrait!
quelle merveilleuse voie !!
may i ask what notes you can hit? countertenors are really kinda rare these days, it would be awesome if you could record yourself singing sometime!
I am not into opera but just came to know the Diva via the Great Composers BBC series on Mozart and have been hooked ever since! WOW!
I'm an amateur singer. My Tessitura is a very dark and steely Baritone but I can easily go up to a bright Mezzo's range in head voice with good volume but not as loud as the females obviously. I love putting in coloratura to songs when I sing. Is this normal even though I have a deep voice I can easily hit high notes?
Wow! Su voz es tan dinamica
@oliviasmulyan 41 is from "Ah, fuggi il traditor" from Mozart's Don Giovanni. 42 in the red dress is "Ah non giunge" from La Sonnambula. :)
@FoxyGrandpa Thanks for mentioning it! I was going to include it...but that looooong E-flat made such a better ending, with the applause and all! She said in an interview about "Sacrificium" that she's a mezzo and can't sing roles like the Queen of the Night...uhhh...I'd say otherwise! :P I know for sure she still has her high D these days...wouldn't be surprised if she decided to do a run of Zauberflöte one day alongside some Turandot! :P She's already singing everything!!
Cecilia is a force of nature. What a gem.
MARAVILHOSA !
@92Meiko I think you're referring to the crazy one with her mouth wide open..."Sovra il sen la man mi posa" from "La Sonnambula" by Bellini. :)
Her scary expressions always remind me of Elsa Lanchester in "Bride of Frankenstein", I just cannot take her seriously. Remember Callas' admonition to her mezzo-soprano student, "Stop grimacing, Sheila. You're a queen here. Be beautiful, always be beautiful!"
what is she singing at 33-34?
Holy Lord. What an amazing accomplishment. Brava.
