This is video footage I recorded for archive purposes.
The show was recorded on a Sony Hi8 camcorder with video fed to a Sony Betacam SP video recorder. Audio was recorded directly to the Betacam SP deck from the Laserdisc source. Due to the nature of the camcorder used there are some slow focus issues due to lighting.
The video has been optimally digitized, cleaned up, remastered and upscaled using AI technology to 4K. It's been uploaded to KZread at the recommended H264 maximum bitrate.
The audio has been untouched from the master (Linear PCM) and only compressed by KZread.
Note: This show was produced in Dolby Surround (Unique to the AAM)
For optimal playback watch this video on a 4K TV with a Dolby Digital audio system set to Dolby Pro Logic or Dolby Pro Logic II.

The late 1990s-early 2000s were truly the golden age of CEC. I miss the emphasis on entertainment that the company had back then -- you could really tell that they were investing a lot of money and talent into the production of the shows.

Really wish they would’ve kept this stage as a more simplified version instead of scrapping it all together. Its such an interesting and beautiful idea. I could see why they would get rid of it because of all the complexity and how expensive it would be, but like i said they could’ve made a simpler version of it or just keep it in 1 location as a special stage. Its just such a shame most of this beautiful stage most likely ended up destroyed in a landfill. It would have made a wonderful “tourist attraction” for CEC fans. Still so sad how this idea was scrapped and never even got archived in any way beside this video :(

Hello! I am Ashley, I turned 21 years old yesterday and I just recently went down a deep rabbit hole of things from my childhood and I was actually a huge CEC fan starting in my baby years when my parents took me to various locations and I had CEC merch in photos. I just recently discovered the history of AAM and let me say, I am very impressed with the amount of quality, love and care that went into bringing the stage into reality. I was not from the 90's art era but I will say the futuristic 90's art on the stage is absolutely beautiful, and I love all the lights and gizmos and gadgets on it as well. This would have been such a cool stage show if it was approved and made all across the chain but due to tech problems and budget issues, that couldn't happen but I wish it still would have been kept alive at Dallas Texas instead of quickly thrown away and reworked to CEC Studio stages. Also, the CEC beta animatronic in this location was moved to my childhood location in Sunnydale Moreno Valley CA after the Dallas building closed after I researched it. What's also weird is that the Sunnydale one opened in 2002, the same year I was born. Anyway I wanted to thank you for all the footage you have of AAM because it was a rare and ambitious experiment but it's also lost media due to the lack of footage that was recorded.
@Kalebbecka2010
16 күн бұрын
yeah, and 2.0 is so stupid😡
The AAM is so incredibly cool, but I can definitely see why they settled for Studio C instead. There are so many moving parts that would be impossible to keep totally functional over the years. Plus, it's a neat gimmick, but with the way CEC evolved, it would've become dated pretty quickly I think. Considering how important the screens were, they would've had to consistently make new footage to go along with the shows, which probably would've been incredibly expensive. If they'd kept that one location, though, it could've been really, really neat to see how it would've turned out!

Wow, the Dolby surround sound integration, the theater environment, the crazy effects, everything came together to make this stage one of the most awesome things I've ever seen. CEC went all out with this stage and the result was incredible. This would've blown me away today, never mind the fact that it was produced in the late 90s.

Interestingly enough it was quite easy to access all of the show elements. The complicated part was how intricate and customized all of the parts were for the show. Trying to stock all of the components in the parts department was one of the concerns of putting this show in hundreds of locations.

it was in a Chuck E. Cheese's (the original location in Dallas, Texas on Montfort Dr, relocated in December 2001, the current one has Circles of Light and Dance Floor now)
It would’ve been cool if a few stores got an AAM, but I doubt they would’ve been well maintained well with all the moving parts it has. Especially in modern CEC.
It would be so cool if the stage was kept and that location and put in a few more locations, but the stage has more parts than animatronics combined on the three-stage

I can see why they didn't go through with this, given how much of a nightmare this looks to maintain, not to mention how expensive this looks. I do like how the animatronic looks. This and the Studio C animatronic are the best animatronics of the character. I feel people's fear of animatronics wouldn't be as bad, if not extremely rare, if animatronics like this and the Studio C animatronic were CEC's standard. If the setups with all of the band looked on par with AAM and Studio C, I feel more people would respect animatronics.
Even tho I'm really sad this stage was never mass produced I'm kinda glad too cause you know Imagine this stage in modern day cec
