This was one of those Amazing days I will never forget! I visited Cebu's Toughest Hood Pasil, and the love I received was beyond belief! Everyone was super friendly, helpful and welcoming, there was not one time where I felt unsafe. I ended up meeting these amazing locals who gave me Puso and tuslob bua and it was soooo Delicious! Then I came across the politest kids who instantly made me shy, amazing manors for such young individuals. And finally we ended up playing a money card game with the locals, super fun!! Would love to know the name of it!!

"mano po" is for erderly people to show respect its like kissing ur grandma into her forehead.... but i dont think its necessary on not too old people ... kuya and ate and using po is enough.. but its a good sign if kids mano to you cause it means their parents teach them to show respect to people older than them

sir remember. if the children do that to you again. that only shows respect for the elderly. this is our filipino culture. if people call you "SIR" or they talk to you in tagalog there is a word " PO" and "OPO" This is also one that shows respect to others. This is the Filipino culture. Sir, if foreigners come here to our place in the Philippines. You will really have a culture shock.

What the children does to you is called “Mano”. In Filipino culture, “mano” is a gesture of respect. Children perform it by taking the hand of an elder and placing it briefly against their forehead. This act symbolizes honor, acknowledgment of wisdom, and seeking blessings from the older person. It’s a meaningful tradition that reinforces family values and respect for one’s elders.

I’ve noticed that as many vloggers there are in the Philippines, the locals seem to gravitate towards a certain personality. YOUR personality TK ( hope I got it right!) is the type to make my kababayans notice you and want to be around you and of course interact. Lots of others they may stare at you or do a wave. Looking forward to more adventures!!

Sometimes, exploring in the slums is better than a well-developed city. The people maybe poor but are very rich in happiness no matter what they have and very humble people with very big hearts. The gestures of those kids doing a "mano" is to show respect to elders. They were raised very well by their parents. This and the joyful welcoming people are just the examples. ❤

Respect for the elders are practiced here in the philippines.. "mano po" is a gesture of respect.. Bullying in class is not prevalent in PH as these kids were embeded in doing good for God.. following the 10 commandments... Observe the schools in PH.. we have many catholic schools (universities) which taught the young ones about good moral values... PH students dont bring guns to school... Guns is not in our minds... We pinoys... Our weapon / self defense is PRAYERS and deep faith in God.. prayers do many silent miracles. 😊

@@Travel_chronicles In Hawaii it's known as the forehead-to-forehead touch, known as "honoring," it's a traditional Hawaiian greeting called "honi." It symbolizes the exchange of ha, or breath of life, and is a gesture of respect and connection between individuals. So when I saw that gesture I knew. In my other country, we ladies would basically crawl or head down and body bend half way when we are walking past anyone sitting, all the while saying Hi, or sorry as we walk by. 💜🐢
