Cebu Blue Pothos! Epipremnum Pinnatum | New Houseplants
The Epipremnum pinnatum aka the Cebu blue pothos is a wonderful and easy to grow houseplant. This pothos, like the golden pothos ( epipremnum aureum - Marble queen pothos and neon pothos and manjula pothos ) likes a well-drained and organically rich potting soil that holds onto some moisture for a few days but doesn't remain soggy. The cebu blue pothos varies from the golden pothos in that it seems to like a little bit more light, but that could just be my experience as the lighting requirements for the cebu blue pothos are a bit jumbled online. Right now this a somewhat rare houseplant but that will be changing soon. I think these will be more and more common in stores like walmart, lowes and home depot by summer or fall of 2019 with the rest of their houseplants. Lastly, these pothos propagate just like the golden pothos, simple stem cuttings placed in moist soil will take root and take off just fine. These plants are easy to root and easy to propagate. This wasn't really a " How to propagate pothos " video but i glazed over it and will be more thorough when i actually do a propagating and start to root some cuttings. But like i said, these are an easy to grow houseplant and an easy to propagate houseplant. One of the things that is so neat about the epipremnum pinnatum is how it's leaves change shape as they start to climb and resemble a split leaf philodendron ( selloum philodendron / philodendron bipinnatifidum ) . The regular pothos changes leaf size as it climbs and becomes a giant golden pothos, but the leaves don't undergo such dramatic transformations. Thanks for joining me on a quick plant chat with my Cebu blue pothos!

I got mine approximately a month ago from Walmart. Same pot as yours. Check the root ball. Mine was extremely and sadly so root bound. The roots were choking the life out of the plant. So I proceeded to go into a root bound fixing. Loosen up the old dirt, wash it up and got rid of the old dirt. Gave her a nice shower, did some extensive root pruning (yes I snipped away and gave her a root haircut). Treated her like the queen she is. Potted her in a terracota pot in some rich well draining soil and she is thanking me with her beauty. She is doing so well now with her fresh start at life. I hate root bound plants!!! 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ KZread has lots of videos on how to fix AND prune roots. She is truly living her best life now.

@@TropicalPlantParty sorry to hear about the scorching! I've been putting mine out on porch after intense morning sun. I'm in zone 6B and it's unusually cool already, trees and plants think it's fall already. PS, off topic, but I went BACK to same store and picked up a NEON Pothos, several people admired it as I carried it to register and out the door. Have been looking for one for over a year, it's in great shape. I can't believe my luck to find 2 really nice plants at this particular store where most summer stuff is dead or cleared out, mums a plenty and employees making space for Christmas storage. Hey Jeff! I was shopping for a good fertiliser the other day and I wanted something like your Espoma Plant Tone but I have NO IDEA what the Aussie version of that would be. Would be great to see a video where you find international versions of the plant foods you use and recommend so we can prep our pots and beds like you do! I know it would be difficult to 'recommend' something you haven't been able to use, but finding something with similar ingredients for us to try locally would be really useful! Great video, as always! - Catherine

Hmmm... that's a good suggestion, I will see what I can do, but it will be tricky and might take me awhile. @TropicalPlantParty

I agree with, JustKidding, if you are watering it and the soil is rushing through the bottom or over the top and not mainting moisture for a couple of days then it is likely root bound. Also sometimes they are sold with drainage dishes attached to the bottom that can keep them wet for too long, but those can be removed if that is the problem. :)
