California bus drivers have to go through CHP written and All of the pretrip and engine compartments aside from DMV test

when doin the light check how many lights are you supposed to check for

@@jamirsmith7255 you have to check all lights so inside the bus: check school bus lights which are the amber warning lights, red stop lights and stop sign, headlights, high beams, turning signals.

@@jamirsmith7255 i believe 3 weeks and we would only train like twice a week. It wasn't that long for me. I picked it up pretty quickly and then I memorized all the other things. you got it! especially if i can do it anyone can lol

Depending on what state you’re in you’ll have to change the state and then just take the gen knowledge practice test and then whatever else you need to do

In New Jersey we don’t have to do air brake. Well at least the company I trained through and work for didn’t require it! I hope that helps!

any tips on how to do ally dock backing?

Ive only driven school bus so not really.. sorry but maybe the backing up could relate and when I back up I utilize my left mirror and pinpoint the cone or spot I need to get into as my guide and then from there I maneuver my steering wheel how need be and go back and forth looking at left mirrors and right mirrors. No matter what just take your time! It’s literally no rush !

Greetings from The Bronx New York. I just passed my CDL permit B test a week ago. I was thinking of applying for greyhound or Peter Pan bus driving jobs as a CLP holder. However, I am thinking of applying for the school bus driver position. I only have the passenger and air brakes endorsement. Will I get hired for a school bus position without a school bus endorsement? Thanks!

CONGRATULATIONS! You gotta have your school bus endorsement to drive school bus. Then again different job locations be having they own rules lol so I would just ask the company what their requirements are! Goodluck with everything!!!

The thing is New York like literally sucks when it comes to these CDL programs. Am honestly just tryna get my CDL b license and move out of New York Dawg. It’s rough out here!
