Class isn't hard atleast wasn't for me. I take my test in couple days. If your not good with a trailer practice with your personal vehicle can even rent a uhaul trailer if u don't own a trailer they're cheap like 20 30$ a day. Do research on the school don't go to one with terrible reviews unless it's only option like was for me... usually atleast in my state u have to take a class prior to taking permit test was 2 days but pay close attention!!! So u can pass the permit test also do alot of practice test online they really really help since there's tons of information they give u in those 2 days.

just finished school here and attained my Class A CDL. Best school and program by far. From the second you register til you get your certificate and trophy, the support and encouragement is second to none. You have to do the work, learn the pre trip, learn the driving, but daily experience on REAL trucks (no simulator bs) is unbeatable.

Nice if you take the test in automatic especially for a new driver, I’m taking my test with manual transmission and it’s hard you have to do down shifting and up and must done fast and sometimes you can’t make it on time when you’re approaching a red light.

I had a strict instructor, retired State Trooper sittting in my cab. On a hot day make sure your air conditioner and or inside fans work of the examiner may tell you that creates fatigue, an unsafe driving condition. As your turning, keep your head rockn and rollin left to right in the mirrors. And most importantly across tracks, move fast and don't hit any curbs and your good.

Great video in the end you forget to mention before entering to parking area you need to clear first where you go before make turn some times there is trucks coming out or cars and you need to be sure getting area clear some poeple fail exam no doing this .

On that double lane turn, aren't you supposed to use the outside lane? Its the one that gives your the biggest turning radius and protects you and the other driver, otherwise they would be in your blindside wouldn't it?

Changing lanes in a commercial vehicle is very important...the scenarios you did were best case scenarios - no traffic...so you signal, check the mirrors & if it is clear, you switch lanes perfectly! But, what if it wasnt clear to change lanes because of the volume of traffic, what do you do?

I’m looking to go to school for my class A I’m extremely nervous. Any advice?

I failed my test recently on a right turn. It's a tight right that would be a one way, two lane and have plenty of room BUT there's construction going on and half the road is ripped up and missing, covered with cones. This makes the right turn a very TIGHT right turn. I risk hitting cones on the left and the curb on the right. I only have maybe a few inches to work with and I'm stressed about it. Obviously I'm not an experienced driver so this one turn is make or break. 🫠

I live in California and I'm hoping to find a company that will teach me to drive and get my cdl. I don't care if i need to work for them for a year or a few. I jusy really want to be a trucker and my life has finally gotten to a point where I can be one. Does anyone know of a company in California or a school that will teach Cdl? I'm kind of struggling to find much online other than everyone hating on California and telling people to never drive there. I don't blame them, but I could do with some help folks.

I called swift today. They said I could get in within the next week. They help with the costs for 26 month contract. I think it's going to cost me roughly 400 dollars with travel to the school, food, permits and license fees. They isn't that bad I don't think. I just need to make sure I pass. I'm nervous but if I don't try I'll never know and I could have a career I've wanted for over a decade.
