My daughter has the same disease as ironmouse and infuses plasma as well. It’s changed my daughter’s life drastically. It takes hundreds of donors for each infusion, so thank you to those considering donating. We appreciate Connor so much for what he’s doing to raise awareness and money.

I just donated plasma today! I got twice a week mainly for low-effort source of income, but it's incredibly heart-warming to think that just sacrificing 2-3 hours of my day twice a week could contribute towards support for people like your daughter.

Since watching mouse, I have donated plasma 91 times. Thats about 56 liters of plasma. I have made around $6000. Go donate!

Thats cool I wish it was different where I live they take more plasma than normal in my state double other states ten times other countries, and the plasma center pays about 20$ per donation people pass out regularly and I stopped when I found out they sell the majority of the plasma to a company that does "young blood" transfusions for the rich.

as someone who got diagnosed with R.A (Rheumatoid Arthritis) and Lupus (Which are both autoimmune disorders where my immune system attacks my body and causes mobility issues, skin issues, ect....) in my mid 30's I wish more was known about our immune systems and i think its great that Conor pushes to bring awerness. immune issues r hard to live with and changes ur life in so many different way.

this is amazing transprancy, as well as good thought process. Its fine to want to help multiple charities, but to stick with one and know that you will at least have a significant impact for at least one cause is admirably. yes connor could get thousands for any charity he wants to help, but sticking to one to make sure it gets help because its something you know and respect is just good shit

"Insurance companies LOVE when a disease isn't known" Experienced this first hand when I got sick with Cerebella Itaxia/Cerebritis. My dad had to fight the Insurance company to pay for PORTIONS of my month long stay in hospitals and 3 months physical therapy. It's fucked.

Ngl i didnt know about this sickness until I watched Ironmouse. Its good that they are getting these awards and publicity so that the world get to know it.

I have been following this charity for a while it's 101% worth it would def recommend 👍

This is good stuff. Cdawg's done the background research. I might not know anything about CVID, but the situation is similar for other illnesses.

I was born with a rare metabolical and neurological disorder. If I had the same platform Connor does I would use to to raise awareness for my own sickness. I love everything Connor does.

ALS was virtually unknown to most of the public until the ice bucket challenge. And as a direct result of the internet's collective generosity there's several potential cures being developed. You shining a light on autoimmune diseases, an often overlooked issue affecting millions of people, is a wonderful way to use your platform for good.

I donate blood sporadically, but I cant donate plasma or platelets due to issues with my white cell count from previous low level radiation poisoning. I live in Australia and we have legislation that prevents paying for blood donations. The lack of incentives and the fact that it is massively negative towards weight lifting, cardio, sport and other physically active people means donating just is not worth it for most people. I usually donate once or twice a year during my downtime from work/training/sport. Targeting gamers or weebs who tend to be less active, not as socially engaged to feel like they are supporting not only those they watch who suffer like Ironmouse, but helping those in their community is a great choice because they do not suffer the negative impacts as much as people who have manual labor jobs or sports hobbies.

Well put, but plasma donation actually doesn't negatively affect muscle growth or athleticism, at least as far as I know. You might be thinking it takes as much out of you as donating blood, but it does not. They replace the lost plasma with saline, and give you most of your red blood cells back, so you can immediately drive home, no wooziness or dizziness.

I’m a marathon runner and I still donate blood twice a year. I would donate more, but have iron deficiency problems, so that would not be smart. Eitherway I don’t think it has that much of an impact on sports. Sure you might feel lightheaded if you train intensively, but if you do some low intensive training for a week or two the average sporter should be fine. I also have friends who donate and continue to sport. Yes I’m aware That everyone reacts differently to it. But I’m just taking the average person here. Also I’m not sure about Australia, but where I live we generally have enough donors (more would be better) despite also not paying donors. Personally I think that’s something a country and its citizens can be proud of. Lastly, never apologise for not wanting/being able to donate plasma when you already donate blood. Plasma is important, but so is blood. The same obviously goes for people donating plasma who can’t/don’t want to donate blood.

​@@onebacon_ I am using previous to claim that it is not a current physical issue and that it has recovered to the maximum degree it will over my lifespan. However it depends on the time frame and the level of radiation exposure, you can be banned from doing certain types of donations based on that frame, mine is still within the frame for the level and type of exposure I had.

The only reason they pay for Plasma donations in the US is because they are making profit from those donations. I mean in the US you get between $50 and $80 per donation which will take between 2 to 3 units of FFP (Freshly Frozen Plasma) and those units are billed to the customer at around $400 per unit. Plasma is incredibly expensive for the recipient and the reason Mousey has gotten stronger is only because she can now actually afford it regularly (hers is even nore expensive as she has to pay for the nursing staff etc to visit her home).

I have AB blood and I've been donating plasma in the US for a long time. You do get paid but every time I go in everyone is all smiles and being a universal donor I know I can help anyone that needs it and that feels good.

Same here. AB blood, but my biggest issue is constantly low blood pressure. I try to donate as often as I can. It's not even the money. In EU, we don't get that much per donation of blood, but I do it so others can live.

AB isn't the universal donor. AB is the universal receiver. O negative is the universal donor. That said, AB types are very rare and needed.

Connor and Vlog brothers are amazing about their charities. It's not just about raising the money during an event, but it is about STAYING in the fight and continuing to support.

I was terrified of needles when I was a kid. I fucking hated being sick when that could mean getting a shot. Even though I was a big crybaby about it, my uncle pretty much always was the one taking me to the doctor for it. He told me he was also scared of needles when he was a kid but that he had to tough it up because he wanted to donate blood regularly. He never got to see me get over that fear. He couldn't be there for my first donation. Sadly, we lost him due to cancer. He was a really kind man, I hope that kindness lives on on the rest of my family and others. You never know when a little bit of help gets to be the difference for someone.

As a doctor, I regularly donate blood and plasma products every 3 months and it feels good to help people with immunity diseases without expecting back in return. There's no ill effects in donating blood and plasma products and heck it's even helpful with your body. Thanks for posting this, subbed!

As someone who lived in Appalachia i can guarantee Connor he would never be able to do an charity stream there, like 90% of Appalachia has service that barely supports watching a KZread video let alone streaming

Yeah, America's pretty good at recognizing what motivation people might need for various activities. The idea of someone benefitting from my plasma donation isn't real since there's no visual or verbal confirmation that someone was helped by your donation. Unless I am seeing pictures of the people who benefit from my plasma donations, there is no real sense of "I'm doing something good to help someone in need". I know that my donations might help people who need plasma, but the people receiving the plasma are so far removed from the donors that it's really hard to balance out "I'm sitting here with a needle in my arm for an hour and a half" with "a person's life might be saved because of the plasma being donated here" since you never see the person whose life is saved. By allowing plasma companies to pay for donations, the US very effectively encourages people of all ages to spend about 4-5 hours per week donating in return for a decent chunk of change per donation. It's generational too: my parents both donated plasma while they were in college, and now I've started to donate as well. From all my time donating I've seen people from all ages and sizes come in to donate because the time they're spending is valuable and they are compensated as such.

I donated plasma for a while back when I was 18 I did it as often as I could or as much as they let me it was tough sometimes but I was broke and needed money. Now learning more about it I’m glad I donated for a while with my friends

I think you should do your research next time. His best friend has CVID which is one part that the IDF is active in and plasma is what helps keep her alive and healthy. Not looking into something before sharing your bigoted comments just makes you look like you're not as intelligent as I think you are. I hope you can show your intelligence better in the future. Connor is truly such a great human being.

I seriously wish I had the means to donate plasma to help in someway. The nearest place where I could donate is about 3-4 hours away and I can't afford the travel. I have made an effort to donate blood in general though, which is worth the snack you get afterwards!

As a manufacturer of regenerative medicine clients were working with usually have patients that are near death and working under this field made me realize how costly it can be and how many hoops we have to pass through to get at least one treatment done for the patient. This task required a team of other departments and 3rd party resources to make it happen. Which leads to my point on contributing to make a change to these patients no matter how small of a price you contributed Cdawg is right you are part of that action that made a difference which i believe shouldnt be belittle instead for those that made that decision should feel good about it.

I really hope that medical tech gets to the point that we can cure many of these diseases. As i think many of us who follow both Connor and Ironmouse, look forward to the day that Connor can be her guide in person.

It’s good he is honest about why and what he is doing. I do think the message is diluted if someone supports too many charities

Connor is so right. I remember Dr Mike mentioned how everyone should always get a third and fifth opinion from other doctors. Especially if something serious is happening. Because a lot of doctors either don’t care and will just throw medicine at you OR they genuinely aren’t knowledgeable on a topic that specifically affects you.

I remember donating plasma once and having to quit halfway though because it i felt so genuinely awful. I have double the amount of plasma I should so luckily they still got one bags worth but props to people who do it constantly because that shit is so hard.

I actually donated my first pint of blood yesterday due to mousey! I’m not able to donate plasma due to their piercings rules (blood connection says I can donate as long as my piercing was done with single use stuff, but the plasma says I can no matter what until the time passes) but I will once I pass the piercing wait time!!

I know that monke is just tryna talk about the charity or the IDF and we love to hear it and we want to know where is the money going what the progress is and what should we do next to improve awareness for CVID, sadly some chats is focusing on other IDF and they talk about something else there. I think we know that connor and most of the chats cares about politics, but connor's stream is not the right place to talk about politics. unfortunately, they have to change their names so people can focus on the charity, not unrelated politics.

This actually goes for your own personal donating too. There was an economist who talked about it... if you actually care about a cause you would give the majority of your donations to it and give more. If you tend to spread out your donations, you don't care as much about any one thing and tend to give less.

I want to give a bit more context to the plasma donation situation, especially in the USA: the KZread channel Boy Boy did a really good video on the donation situation. The video has a bizarre research theme on beauty operations but takes a sharp turn. Greatly simplified: poverty is a pushing force to get some money through donations. It isn't the case that I am wanting to say "donations are bad". It is more to give context to the greater picture. If you are able to donate you are helping to save people! That is the message for everyone. If you are donating to have an existence minimum you are still helping to save people but your country is bad. That's all towards the context of that topic. Great clip and great charity work cdawg is doing ❤️

Before i started watching mouse. I had zero clue that this was an actual thing going on and happening and seeing mouse push through and have amazing progress and doing amazing things is huge for the community and for the cvid community as well especially bc it brings alot more awareness to this.

They just need to start letting high school age kids donate everywhere. My school used to have a blood drive every few months, in the middle of the school day. You can bet your ass we all did it to skip class.

Being specialized to one specific charity isn't a bad thing at all. You can be a lot more involved and understanding, as well as keeping up with current research.

I had no idea that every (most?) contries beside the US don’t have Pay insentives for donations. That’s wild. Even as someone with trypanophobia the money add on to the general greatness that is donating has been quite tempting. (Alas the phobia is too strong. V_v)

You can find out where and how in your area by looking up plasma donations and your area and city name. For those wondering. I found out how by doing this and using the plasma donation website in my area. It showed me where near me was a center that is legit to donate to.

Here's a rule of thumb, if you see a lot of charity organisations under one event or name, it's either purely for money laundering or for mostly money laundering. To be fair even when for money laundering, theres still benefits to the receiving end, but at a great cost of creating corruption and politics in a field where none of these should exist.

Wait, people were hating on Connor because they confused suporting the IDF with supporting Isreal? What a stupid thing to do. First off, people need to actually research things before attacking people so they are better equipped to bring up real criticisms and concerns. Secondly, I'm getting real tired of people just jumping on the bandwagon because of their misguided feelings about a subject because it just makes the actual real concerns more difficult to discuss. Third, and this is all I'm going to say about this, the situation over in the Middle East is way more complicated than anyone actually seems to realize. It's not about "This side is attacking the other side so obviously this side is bad" it's about a long brewing hatred between two peoples, decades of terrorist attacks on BOTH sides, and religious beliefs that are in conflict with each other. Reducing it to "not supporting Palestine is antisemitic" just proves how ignorant people are of what has actually been going on. There is no innocent side to the war in the Middle East right now, and that is what is making it so hard for people to understand. All of that being said I hope that all of those that were pulled into the war unwillingly are staying safe and/or getting to safer areas because I really don't think there is going to be a happy ending.
