I have the Halo9 head unit 18w RMS Output. I only have the alpine 45w RMS Amp. Can I safely turn the gain right up to max on the amp?

No, because turning the gain all the way up in most causes will cause the signal to clip.

Gain is NOT a volume knob. It is to adjust the output voltage from the source to the input voltage from the amp !

Could u Please show us how u ran the power cable from the battery to the amp. I’m about to do my own installation and no idea how to run the Cable.

Hi Damian, sadly looked through my stock footage and didn’t film anything to help, if you pop up the side sills then you should find access to get the cable secure along the length of the vehicle, as the the battery you need to gain access to a grommet up behind the dash below the front of A pillar, not easy to describe on here, when i get another similar vehicle in ill try to do a quick video of it.

I am looking to install these in my car. What are my options to fix a mismatch mounting height where the door is listed at 0.379 and the speaker at 0.482?

Hi Tim, i think the simplest way would be to build out a new mounting surface using staggered mdf rings, stacking and glueing thin rings can give a very controllable mounting height and is a better denser material than plastic speaker adapters, im guessing you like a punchier sound and want to get the speakers close to the oem grill guide

What ALPINE brand amplifier do you recommend for my alpine R-S65C.2 and R-S69C.2 midrange set, you say alpine x-a70f but right now it is a bit expensive, any other suggestions?

Will this type x amp would he safe for these Alpine Type R's speakers. Amp runs 120rms @ 4ohms. Would be safe to run the Alpine Type R's 6.5 with Alpine Type X amp safely?

Hi, thanks for the comment, there is no reason you couldn’t use Focal speakers and they are great SQ speakers, this customer wanted a loud system rather then high SQ and i personally think Alpine Type R speakers are great for achieving this

Brilliant, EXACTLY what I was looking for!!! To confirm what you did, you tapped into the existing speaker wires in the Harman radio unit, and put them into your new amplifier?

Do you recommend those components?

Definitely yes, Alpine Type R has been available for years and have a great output volume and low distortion when driving it loud, thanks for the comment and watching the video.

Yeah the bass is good for speakers but better off letting a subwoofer give the true bass, the alpines are great for giving loud sound with minimal distortion

Everyone has videos showing how to replace the front door speakers but nones done a video on replacing the rear speakers in a 3 door Evoque. I can't be the only one which would make it a popular video. Perhaps I'll figure out and upload a video on how not to do it lol 🤷‍♀

From about 50 Hz and up they are nice and strong, lower than 50 Hz most speakers suffer.
