Animators were truly masters of their craft back then. The animation in those commercials are buttery smooth.

kids nowadays don't really know what real cartoon isThis is usually the best part of Saturday morning waking up in the living room with the siblings just to watch cartoons like flintstones ,thundercats , smurfs and even the care bears and the classics...best Saturday mornings to wake up to.

Both were great since technically I was a kid in both, but I give a slight edge to the 80s. I think we can all agree that it was much better to grow up in either than growing up in the 2020s........😪😪. I feel bad for my kids growing up in such crazy times. I hope 20 or 30 years from now they can look back and recall some fond memories, because from my POV, I can't see too much that they would be happy to remember. I just try to spend as much time as I can with them, take them outside, let them enjoy fresh air and try to get them as far away from mainstream media as humanly possible. Watching the news literally depresses me, we all have to remember to unplug every now and then. It's so easy to get caught up in all the craziness going on around us

well folks if you 40 plus ,you will remember last good years of being a kid and teenagers with this line up .I'm here to tell you that the 80's and 90's had the best cartoons ever and it will never come back due to programming and the internet . When I was a kid if you missed your toon you have to wait till next week and it gave it excitement of the coming saturday morning with cereal good commercial's and good start to your morning . After the toons went off you went outside and had fun with your friends until the sun came down . Thanks for the vids

Dang, I never expect to run into WildCATS in this day and age. Back sometime in the 2000s I bought that entire series on DVD for $2.50. Still have it, in fact.

Why Garfield and Friends got cancelled: Garfield and Friends had outlasted most animated series by the time it reached its seventh season in 1994. Although the series was still doing well in the ratings at the time, the show had become very expensive to make and the Saturday morning cartoon format was in decline by this point due to competition from Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network. CBS proposed cutting the budget for an eighth season. Since syndication of the series (73 episodes) was doing well, producers ended the series in 1995 with its seventh season.

The 1960’s & 1970’s were the best decade for T.V. Scooby-Doo, The Archie’s, Josie & The Pussycats, Sabrina And The Groovie Goolies, Spider-Man, The Herculoids, Space Ghost, The Fantastic Four, The Bugs Bunny / Roadrunner Hour, The Superfriends and many others.

The early 90s were great. It still felt like the 80s until around '93. As this video shows, there were still some awesome remnants of the 80s still around in' 94 too. Not long after this, Saturday morning cartoons died.

Saturday morning will never be the same again and I quote 👊💯💯💯

Its wild how even the commercial would be inappropriate now much less the cartoons. How far have we fallen?!?!

Oh my god I knew that whole "wildcats" song and I didn't even know I knew this cartoon. WOW guys. That was some strange effect on a person. That past rushed in and I could feel my mind rewiring to remember that theme song. I was 8 in 1994.

A fascinating year for Saturday morning cartoons

for YEARS i have been looking for this cartoon. i had no idea what the name of it was. i just remember magic, teens, and talismans. thought maybe it was "mystic warriors" but its conan and the young warriors. didnt remember the conan part at all lol

Ah, 1994. The golden year of my childhood. Fox Kids arguably peaked at this point, and learning from their hubris by underestimating the impact of X-Men and MMPR in 1993, CBS took their lineup into overdrive with some more action-oriented shows, some getting an entirely new look like the 1987 TMNT series (dubbed the Red Sky seasons), and others considerably ahead of its time like Skeleton Warriors, though never catching on as it should have. This was truly one of the most - if not the most - epic CBS Saturday morning lineups ever. But to this day, I still wonder what they were thinking when they followed up a series as awesome as Conan the Adventurer to... whoever that imposter and those brats were who aired on CBS. The former had an open-ended series finale with Mesmira and Ram-Amon still on the loose, and they followed that up with something not only weak in substance, but completely unrelated? This was CBS's moment to really capitalize on that and get another foothold on Fox Kids, and they blew that chance. Sorry for the angry rant, but considering how hyped I was for it initially, the way that particular show turned out - aside from the otherwise great lineup - wounded me on the inside.

everyone talks about nostalgia, i guess my terrible childhood up to teen just helped me never want to revisit the past. anything you think is good about back then, you can do it now, you can watch everything you did before and experience everything you did before. nostalgia is a mindset and a reluctant grip, it prevents you from experiencing the present or future.

LOL in Ace Ventura, they couldn't even spring for the real calliope music. AKA Enter the Gladiators.

I miss Tiny Toons and of course the Animaniacs . now there is one episode of Tiny Toons I bring up it's titled One Beer a humorous message to all others out there about drinking responsibly .
