I've received my CBR from Honda today. General service and head gasket change cost me 1007₹. When I enquired they told me if we want to do timing chain and tensioner works it will cost 7000₹. Coil pack is around 1500₹. Battery 2000₹

This bike is not that reliable as people want to believe. This comment might be long, but have a read if you're planning to buy one. Disclaimer: It might kill your dream for the machine, but it doesn't let me from saying the truth. I own a 250R abs, loved the bike at first sight when it launched in 2011 mainly because how similar it looked to a VFR1200 and the massive single piece side panel. Also, I am an ardent honda fan boy. Once I got my dream machine in 2016 I got in love with it. But the bike had other plans for me, I got stranded on my way back from Kodaikanal on my bike for an unknown reason even the people at honda won't tell me. I had to tow it some 300 kilometers to Kerala. Things got worse when the engine started vibrating and started producing a harsh noise after 5500rpm after a few months after the purchase. I went to the showroom in Pathanamthitta and with the very little knowledge they have, they told me it was "normal". I tried convincing them that it is not normal, and have a look at it but, they won't. I decided to live with it. And one fine day I got fed up with their bullshit and tooke it to Highlander in Bangalore and had them look it up. First, they changed the balancer because, they thought that might be the culprit. But that wasn't it, it was still the same. Went there a second time and replaced every single bit inside the engine including the crank, piston, valves, bearings, timing chains, shims...EVERYTHING, costing me upwards of 50k. I thought to myself, the nightmare ends here, but no, the bike still had the vibration, the noise, but slightly better in some ways. To be honest I'm unhappy with the bike. I loved it dearingly. Spend a huge sum just on repairs on it. I don't recommend it to anyone who wishes a peace of mind. What I got to know from my motorcycling journey is that it is not just my case, but a lot more other people had the same issues with the bike, then again these fanboys won't accept the fact that the 250r is not a reliable machine, just like the volkswagen boys think that they are the shit. Some might have had very good experience, but I'm talking about mine.

Never had a bad experience before. using for 3+ yrs still running stock sprocket (22000kms)only front brake pad and cables changed done 410+kms on a single day 3 or4 times. Done a 1200km ride in 3 days never broke down. Two time had a fuel issue and the bike stpeed temporarily for 15 min. Got 40+ milege on long rides. Highly satisfied customer❤️

Looks like ‘your’ bike is not reliable. I owns a 2011 model abs version and it still goes beyond 160kmph with no vibrations. 😊
