Looking back a lot now that Jimmy is gone, you are absolutely correct this was a really really good team, and man losing the big guy to injury hurt bad, even still I think this Butler team might have been the only team that could have beaten us this year. Butler was still in the Horizon League, at this point, they were unknown ish, and they sent us to Salt Lake City for a 5pm start in a half full NBA Arena.....strange......really really good team.....one bad night......

Butler beat utah in the first round, then came back to slc, and knocked out the top 2 rated teams in their bracket, just to end up having their two best players end up as solid Jazz players for a stint. Hayward used to be the man before he left the jazz 😔

Matt Howard was the best player on Butler!!

Butler and Syracuse were in the EAST regional semifinals in 2003 (Butler under Todd Lickliter lost to #1 Oklahoma while #3 Syracuse survived a scare against Auburn and held #1 Oklahoma to 47 points in the Elite 8).

I still get upset that AO hurt his knee.
