Your analysis of these off-road accessories was superb. Although I'm a putz and will never put my accessories to the test as you do it's great learning what works and what doesn't. For instance the Rally Raid Crash Bars mounting to the frame not the engine. I will definately make a mental note of that very important tip. Especially since my dumb head bought crash bars that would possibly damage my engine vs the frame. Learned something new today 😐👍

Hi, thank you for the comment, to be honest most of what I know I learned the hard way but glad to share any information I have. Thanks for watching Trevor
Thanks. Common sense adjustments. Experience counts. I'm not a dirt-bike rider, but I like to listen to people with experience and note their modifications.
This is great, been hoping you'd show what you've done to the bike. Great to have your slant on many of the aspects of mods, coming from experience. Nicely done video Trevor.

That's a whole lot of mods and upgrade.. Pumped up .. I just recently changed my tyres to Corsa cross platinum and they are doing good job so far... I am looking to get YSS suspension kits for front and rear.. The wide pegs with spikes would be good I guess.. May get one of those soon.. You are right about the front mud guard, I may change that and lift it up.. I really like the look of the bike.. Have a good one!

Hi thank you for the comment, it's great that there are so many options for upgrades and mods for the bike. Thanks for watching and good luck with your bike. Trevor
Awesome bike setup
So good to see that they actually have engine guards that attach to the frame instead of the engine, i didn't think they existed and was holding off buying any because i don't like the idea of adding vibrations to an already vibrating motorcycle.

Nice mods I have a 14 model with the rr suspension I can say a person can bend the cast wheels as I have a few but doesn't effect any thing I hit a tree laying on the road and a huge rock I would say the cast wheels are fine abit surprised how much they punishment they take. @Solo Moto Adventures but if you damage a cast wheel you lose a whole wheel. If you do the same with a wire wheel you would just need a new exell rim. And maybe some spokes. Parts that are commonly available. This comment is aimed directly at you.
Hey love the front fender mod and the shortie wind screen. Can you give some more details on what kind they are and any mounting tips ? Thanks for the video bike looks great! Looks like you ride it like you mean it!.. Every one of those dings and scratches has a story! Have you traded enough blood to feel like you and the bike are related !? Haha.. I am surprised you don't have a bigger plate on your sidestand. I have a RR 2014 cbx like yours and i love it :-) i might copy that low windscreen. i have a big spoiler on my windscreen and it is the best setup i have ever ridden on a motorcycle (regarding buffering) but i do miss a better view in front of the bike. its all about compromises :-)

Hi Dwayne, thank you for the comment. I played around a little with mine and to be honest it was with limited success but enough to know there was more to be gotten out of it. I booked it in to a suspension specialist near me and for €45.00 they set it up for my weight and riding style and it has been great. It takes about 40 minutes and is well worth it. Let me know how you get on and if you noticed any difference Ride safe, thanks for watching Trevor

That will be interesting to follow! Please share your adventures here. While the CB 500x is a fantastic bike - I want something more powerful so I think I am going for the 2023 KTM 890 adverture ( Not R because of the seat height and my riding style) - or possibly the new 750 Honda Transalp. Those bikes both weigh about the same as the CBX 500, around 200 kg. KTM has all kinds of tech widgets ( at a cost) And the Transalp has almost double the power at basically the same weight. Too many options!

Hi Topsy, thank you for the comment, I just picked up a mudguard locally please see the link to a similar one. www.aliexpress.com/item/SUV-off-road-motorcycle-accessories-front-fender-modification-before-masonry-tile-motorcycle-free-shipping/32642678498.html It is not a kit but it is easy enough to fit with a few spacers and a metal plate. I turned off the ABS by terminating the switch near the fuse box. If you pull the ABS fuse and test it this way before you cut any wires. Hope this helps Thanks for watching Trevor
I just bought a 2022 cb500x and my question is have you changed or put risers on yours I'm 6'2 basically want to know if I would have to change cables if I do.
I have the same handlebars as you. What size Barkbuster do you need for them? As in bar circumference
how can you switch for spokeswheels? Is that possible? Affordible? What about the downgrades about it? I am curious i want to buy one but still not shure about suuzuki dl 650 or honda 500 with offroad mods! would like to hear more from you!

Hi, the 2014 CB500X has a 17-inch front wheel, Rally Raid in the UK makes a 19-inch wheel, and the 2019 models have a 19-inch front. It's not cheap but I did not pay very much for the bike so the mods were affordable and still less then the price of a new stock cb500. Thanks for watching

Hi where did you get Honda cb500x EXHAUST " MID PIPE " like the front mudguard too
@solomotoadventures
Жыл бұрын
Hi, the exhaust was from Rally Raid Products UK. Not sure if they still have the pipe for raising it, but it is worth asking them. They tend to get back quickly. The mudguard is just a generic one I got, and it is easy enough to mount with a few spacers. Thanks for watching
Don’t the barkbusters save your levers but cause the handlebars to bend? Transferring all the shock into the bars.
@solomotoadventures
Жыл бұрын
Hi never heard that, I guess it would depend on the point of impact and the force, in which case the bars would possibly bend anyway. I have a rental fatbar, no sign of bending yet. The barkbusters work well and have been well tested at this stage. Thanks for the comment Ride safe Trevor
