Cave Mining for Huge Garnet Gems in North Carolina

Ойын-сауық

Crystal Hunting for Garnets Gems! This is where garnet is found!
Going into the darkness into a cavern, or a man made cave/audit. It was once mined years ago for several things over the years. Future videos will entail more details of history of mine and polished garnets, the finished product.
Jeff Aiken making appearance finding loads of garnets also with me on this episode!
This location is open to the public, but I don't suggest beginners go without supervision of an experienced miner. When done properly its very safe. The right tools are required.
Stay tuned to the Instagram page of "The Crystal Collector" for updates on mining adventures
to here and other locations all over the USA!
Remember to check out the playlist on this channel, there you will find public and private locations playlist for videos of places you can or cannot go to.

Hello!!! Absolutely enjoy your videos and have learned what to look for and how too's for mining. Unfortunately the mine is now closed permanently. This past summer some people went into the mine and started removing plates of schist from the ceiling causing a collapse. The tellings are still plentiful with garnets However I don't believe this will last long. Thank you for your videos and all that you do to post them.

I really like Amethyst but I also love garnets. I actually found a large garnet about 2years ago I stepped on it.The point was sticking out of the ground. I wasn't looking for anything ,just was walking and thought it was a regular rock. I looked closer and realized I truly had something special. I didn't have it cut I just had it wire wrapped into a necklace. Love it...😘

My husband and I love watching your channel!! We are currently living in Washington State, and have had some luck with garnets in the Leavenworth area. You hike 3 miles, 1034 elevation gain, and are greeted with a beautiful lake, Heather Lake. It quiet, peaceful, secluded...and riddled with garnets!! Wahoo! The hard work is always worth the reward. We will be moving to the east coast, Virginia, by the end of the year, and cannot wait to explore a whole new world of digging and amazing gems. ( I think I'm going to go nuts!!) Thank you for sharing your adventures with all of us. Could you also share with us your method of polishing your garnets? That would be neat to see!
