Well, as much as I love this piece, this was incidental music, during thr break or intermezzo, from an entire opera that no one listens to or sees the entirety of. Pietro Mascagni is what we call a one hit wonder.

Not only the beauty of the music andrendition but the breeze we can see from his few hairs blowing (no disrespect), it adds the sense of actually being there. I could never get tired of this rendition.. Although I might not watch this everyday, it will bring me here as it has for at least the next 50years and I’m being humble

Amare la bellezza in tutte le più svariate occasioni della vita..., allora hai vissuto , allora vivi....!!! Incontrare un uomo così immenso..., intenso...ti salva la vita...ti trovi a casa finalmente..., non hai bisogno di parlare....ma solo silenzi assordanti ...perché entra nella mente.....che è la cosa più dannata...!!! Stasera lo riascolto di nuovo...e rivivo i miei ricordi più belli...!!!

Words are lacking depth in front of this music: blissful, sad, enchanted, melancholy, ecstasy, sorrowful, noble, graceful, humble, dignified, gracious, elegant, benevolence, yet helpless, longing, and disquieting ... If a 5-min-short piece of music must be picked to depict the profundity of human emotions... This must be the one!

My father died this week and I decided that this outstanding piece of music will be the final rendition of his funeral ceremony next week. I know he loved it and so do I. Pretre's overflowing emotion while conducting is driving me to tears.

Such a wonderful statement Mister.. to this " incredible masterpiece " of Classic - the unique genius Conducter as well. I ve been lucky enjoying it on a classic live event, called " NOTTE ITALIANA " bew years ago , in Munich , in front of the famous " Munich Staats - Oper " on the beautyful " ODEON - PLACA " - I ve been crieng, while the Symphonic Orchestra playd it.. it has touched my heart and soul deeply, 4 ever. Never forget that magic night !! Sometimes on my travells, I listen to Majestro Mascagni while watching stars on the magic night-sky ..on any beach..it seems like the heaven open his gate for a moment, 2 hear the angel singing ! So I definitly know, what you try..2 describe with your words..thank you so much, 4 touching me that emotional way..may you enjoy your life to the fullest 😊 always blessed , with a smile Sigrid Miller Germany, Munich..

@@sigridmiller6009 The conductor is NOTHING next to a great composer. And they are rarely geniuses, although people love to think so and worship them. Many are merely arm wavers. Even ones leading great orchestras. I give all credit to the master composers.

Georges Pretre - the most wonderful conductor - the music pours over us like a gentle waterfall, the musicians must love playing with you as you bring out that special magic that gives us goose-bumps. Thanks to you all.

I cannot stop to listen to this. The manner in which he directed the orchestra is like he was the music himself. You can switch off the music and you will hear it looking at the Dirigent. And music, of course... Beautiful. He serves the music, you can see it

J'étais dans le théâtre en 2009, je peux vous dire qu'au moment de l'intermezzo, les spectateurs étaient transformés en statues, bouche ouverte tant l'émotion était forte. De mes 15 années de Chorégies, une des soirées si ce n'est la soirée la plus intense grâce au magicien George PRETRE et bien sûr à l'ensemble de la distribution à commencer par notre merveilleux Roberto, Béatrice Uria Monzon et tous les autres.

Mascagni Mascagni Mascagni ! Quando hai composto queste note c'era un Angelo sublime nel tuo cuore .

un 1er mai 2010, vol AF Vienne - Paris, j'ai eu l'immense privilège de voyager à côté de Maestro Prêtre. Echanger avec ce génie musical restera un souvenir inoubliable.

Le dernier Grand chef d'orchestre Francais. Un monument.

yes it's a great piece but let's not get carried away.

This piece is very dear to me because whenever I close my eyes I think of my dog Buster whom my ex wife kept knowing how much I love him. As I listen, all the memories from they day I got him adopted and to the moment I last saw him, all those come to my mind. Each holiday I think of him and miss him more because he gets older each year and pray that my ex will let me see him before he passes away someday.

When I close my eyes, just for a moment, I am there, in the land of angels, heaven.

So sad yet so beautiful
