If anyone is questioning this move they clearly didn’t watch the Cavs the last few years. His rotations, offensive schemes (including ATO), and his feel for when to call timeouts were abysmal. The team lost faith in him by all reports this year. JB is the type of coach to get you from the bottom to a good team but not the type to take you from a good team to a champion. He also had no idea what to do with Mobley or DG this year. The lack of growth from Mobley and DG is also a reason since he clearly didn’t have a plan and let micthell play hero ball a lot.

Well, that was the justification for the Bucks firing Coach Bud and Milwaukee has been spiraling down since. Same reason they fired Adrian Griffin, because his defense schemes were lacking, even though they were 2nd in the EC at the time. Now they’re stuck with Doc Rivers 😂 I get what you’re saying, but if there’s not a better option in the open market, you’re just chasing your tail. There are no Nick Nurses and Ime Udokas available. They’re going to hire Frank Vogel or Darvin Ham? 😂

I also think a guy like Micha Nori from the wolves would be a great hire as well. I would also take Vogel or Quinn Snyder over JB but they wouldn’t be my favorite targets in this coaching search.

Mitchell needs a running mate in the name of a small forward who can score and rebound. Mobley has not been coached properly and is not the guy. If you haven't seen his brother Isaiah play, he is better than his overrated brother and sat at the end of the bench all year. Too many ongoing concerns with no answers for over two years is inexcusable and it caught up with Bick. He was topped out. They were lucky they got past Orlando, because his team was embarrassed too many times.

They have a severe issue with the make up of the team. I think the GM should have been the one to go. At the end of 2021 they had Garland, Allen, Markanen, and Colin Sexton and all their draft choices. Imagine how different things would have been if they drafted Scotty Barnes instead of Mobley, and not traded for Mitchell. They would have had a front line of Markanen, Allen, and Barnes with Garland as PG, Sexton as heat check sixth man, and they could have used the draft and free agency to find a shooting guard. So they would have had that line up instead of two mismatched bigs and two small mismatched ball-dominant guards. Mobley looks like a good starter with no outside shot, nothing more, and the guards can't get out of each other's way without Garland severely underachieving, because he's not a spot up shooter. Bad chemistry and probably two of those players have to go to fix the spacing and defensive issues.

Personally I thought garland did well because we got to see the potential of Mobley by him being more of a playmaker. I think it's a big mistake to fire the coach before you sign Donovan or garland if he or both had a problem with the coach. Sign whoever is coming back first then fire him . To me you definitely need to improve the bench. You need someone besides levert who can score and be a facilitator. Jarret Allen Is a great piece. But with mobley garland and Mitchell his contract would limit the bench potential talent. I think you trade him to get a cheaper center with a similar skill set and add another position or two pieces. Possibly you could trade him for 2-3 players no picks either way. Big question is what kind of style are you looking for with the next coach and are you only invested in Mitchell and garland as scores or do you want to see what mobley can do as well. You don't want a talent like him getting D. Payton out the offense

Redick/ Sam Cassell are the coaches of the Lakers, they are more knowledgeable of the game than any of the current candidates that have been considered. They are your coach that will take the team far into the future as well as a minimal contract initially. They will manage the locker room along with input from veterans LeBron and AD; they are players coachs and understands the needs of there coaching staff. We need two real bigs, Valanciunas/Drumond/Dwight ( ie 2020 chip) along side AD, we need a six man, Dramond/Bobby Portes etc. We need a two way guard to manage Jamall Murry and Anthony Edwards.... Demar/Donavan/Caruso/Keli Ubrea/Marcus Smart/JaMonte Murray/Brogden/Bones Hyland . We have the assets, the picks and the money to make this happen. Doc Rivers, Ty Lou, , Chauncey Billups had no direct coaching experience other than one of many assistants.

Do research. J.B been there for 5 yrs the whole team was upset with stuff. His style ran its course time for the next step. Garland broke his Jaw but its more on the coaching . appreciate J.B but if the players dont love the coach or believe this happens. Having a guy that knows one sport and not all sports when all u got to do is research makes no sense

Keyshawn is always taking cheap shots at Paul like the NBA is not as structured as the NFL with the coaches always being fired. What's wrong with you guys. I don't know how Paul holds it in and doesn't go ham on this clown. There's been plenty of coaches in the NFL fired after 1 or 2 years. Paul is killing this dude on topic debates and he keeps trying to bait him into an internet debate where it becomes an Stephen A yelling match
