Cuando estoy con mi guitarra, puedo estar horas, y es genial, simplemente improvisando. Pero hacer letras es como una tortura, un poco, pero salen cosas buenas”. “Y con los años me he vuelto un poco más político y más consciente del mundo, así que empecé a hacer discos más políticos, como 'Chaos A.D.' de Sepultura, 'Roots', el material de Soulfly, hablando de la esclavitud, de cosas supersticiosas, profecías y cosas así. Sí, no me gusta hacerlo. Lo hago de una forma tortuosa, pero me gusta el resultado, porque cuando oyes al público cantar, está ahí y has transmitido el mensaje. Pero no es lo que más me gusta hacer. Ese tema que ha escrito y que le hace sonreír. Y… aunque la mayoría hubiese esperado que nombrara una canción de Sepultura, su elección fue "Eye for an Eye" de Soulfly.
