Caught in Providence: An Honest Boy

Ойын-сауық

His father was charged with speeding, and his honesty just condemned him. #caughtinprovidence #judgecaprio #honesty
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Coming in to court is voluntary, in most cases. The majority of defendants come in to fight their ticket because they felt they were wrongly ticketed, or they have an excuse they'd like the judge to consider. People do have the option to mail in their payment.
These are real people, not actors. Please keep that in mind when you comment. They don't deserve negative scrutiny. Thank you.

You get the feeling very quickly this is an everyday family man, this is not even close to a danger to society, who on earth has not driven 35 in a 25... So he creates a teaching moment, impacts people, shows mercy and life goes on. I wish this judge an extremely long and healthy life.

I would give my parents a C- or a D+. It took me years to overcome my negative upbringing. My parents were good people, but they were injured people. Thank God, they were not criminals or alcoholics. What a wonderful Judge!! This is the kind of man that should be meting Justice in All Courts of Law. He truly has a good heart. He treated the whole family with respect, and humour. They were very, very, lucky, and Blessed that they ended up in Chief Judge, Frank Caprio’s Court Room. He’s the Chief Judge, setting a compassionate and caring attitude, in his Court. God has definitely Blessed this Judge. What a great example to follow.🙏🙏🙏

This is how court should be, a judge that can recognize the difference between someone who may be a true danger and actually did something egregious and someone who the city doesn't need to penalize for what amounts to a minor infraction. perhaps if all of our leadership treated the public with the same amount of respect and compassion there would be less disrespect and disregard of authority. We'd certainly all be far better off.

It's a cute and intuitive concept, but there's actually a ton of research out there that shows how unreliable child testimony can be for a variety of reasons. Interviewing them is a complicated process that takes a lot of technique and experience. You need to ensure that they understand the question and can contextualize it in the situation of the crime. Capacity is a very real concerns in younger kids. Other things like interviewer demeanor, the words used, and the phrasing and type of language can be very nuanced in order to elicit useful (and accurate) information. This judge was clearly going to dismiss the case regardless of what the kid said.

It's literally a 40% increase. That's the same as going 84 in a 60 mph zone. 35 might not seem fast, but it's about the RELATIVE speed increase over what the road is designed for. If you're barreling down the road at nearly one and half times as fast as you're supposed to for that area then you're driving unsafe, no matter the speed.

Sa Erting 99% of traffic judges aren't like him, they will find you guilty within a minute after you approach the stand. So don't think this judge is the norm in the west, he is the exception.

Great judge and it's amazing the way he conducts as a judge . I always admire him for his kindness and the way he hear the cases. He has never been aggressive or hard on suspects. I wish that the judges in our part of the world also learn from this gentleman to be more humble and friendly. I pray for God to bless you and give you good health Sir.

Menelik, more like Melanin, am I right? (Just a joke, it just made me laugh when I thought of it, it's supposed to be inherently offensive, which all humor has to some level. Sadly this in and of itself makes the joke automatically not funny since I had to explain myself.)
