    I can't believe that the last time i saw this was 51 years ago. It's as lovely a story now as it was then. I have both books- and I think that Geoffrey Bayldon was masterful in the role, and deserved an award. Thank you so much for this glimpse back into my childhood.

    I am 46 years old now, I was 5 years old when I first saw Catweazle when it was first shown in 1970. Over the last week I have watched all 26 episodes again, it was good to see them again, good memories of my childhood. Geoffrey Bayldon is a suberb actor and was great as Catweazle and as The Crowman in Worzel Gummidge. I have watched all the brilliant Worzel Gummidge episodes again recently as well. I was 14 in 1979 when Worzel Gummidge first started. I have enjoyed all these Catweazle episodes.

    I am almost 60 and I am so glad I watched all these in my younger day's. I loved Catweazel the frist time round even better the second time round. was one of my favourite programmes. Music was very fitting I remember every part from all those year's ago. I love it when he says merry meet and merry part, this program changed my live because I am a white witch in life, ( pagan) and still am now. thank you for the beautiful memories. Merry Meet And Merry Part and blessings to you all x

    As you are probably aware, Richard Carpenter was well respected in pagan circles, many say his writing brought many to the path. He went on from this to do other shows, probably most famed for "Robin of Sherwood". He was such a good writer and was steeped in the Mythology off these islands. He probably changed many peoples' outlook mine included. Strange are the ways of fate. Blessed be

    So moving - I often wonder if Catweazle ever came down to earth. Look up to the sky and you might see him there. The music is amazing as well - a fitting end? Well, I imagine if he did stay in the 20th century - he may well get used to it - and thus the magic would be lost x

    Cat Weasel leaves soo many unanswered questions! How is he going to get food in a hot air balloon? he cant go back to his own time when the timegate is locked to him. Cat Weasel is forever trapped in our world with little knowledge to the way our world works. I wish their was a sequel to this show like showing the new generation of children falling into the pond and getting trapped in 14 centaury!

    So beautiful! Dear Catweazle! ❤ He only wanted to fly but instead traveled in time because nothing works! We couldn’t have him stop believing in magic, now could we. So he flew, and as always the fool will find that magic will lead him. Touchwood! 😁❤️🙏🏼 Thanks so much for posting both series. I too loved them then and still love them now. The child is father to the man, as Wordsworth so wisely said. ❤

    Geweldige serie, nu nog meer dan toen. Wat een warme zit erin. Catweazel op zijn best. Degene die hier een duim naar beneden plaatst is of, niet zo oud als wij die de duim omhoog steken.; of hij begrijp nog steeds niet hoe series in elkaar moeten steken. Ik mis acteurs zoals Geoffrey Baldon.

    Hi Davewise I am 49 and have done the full 26 again too! Didn't it bother you though as a kid - and it's bugging me again now - what would happen to the poor old fella when the balloon came down. He might not find another Cedric and after the brief joy of flying, would end up being sectioned under the Mental Health Act. The police would probably be awaiting his landing and arrest him. Poor Catweazle would have a worse time in jail than he did from the Normans! Other than that - great stuff, eh?

    What a thoroughly moving, beautiful end to the series. All things must pass, and time, indeed, flies. Incidentally, I think there are too many co-incidences for the ending of this episode NOT to have been inspired by the opening scene of Tarkovsky's "Andrei Rublev"...even down to the horses in the field.

    Thank you for posting all of the videos in the Catweazle series. I've watched them all and enjoyed them a lot. I have to say that I thought series one was better then two. But on the whole, it was a good show. Even though I'm 51. I'd never heard of Catweazle until random chance brought me here to one of your vids. WTG interwebs! You've created a new fan. She who must be obeyed is already tired of my impersonations and quotes of Catweazle. Thanks again Jeff

    I've always wanted to watch Catweazle again, never imagined it was on here. I thought I would spoil it by watching them all again, 'Probably a bit hammy.' But none of it! Forgot how magical (no pun intended) they were and now I look with adult eyes, how well acted, GB was brilliant without any of that condescension you get with children's programmes. I watched with amazement the second episode where Catweazle was in the bath and being washed by Robin Davis - well that wouldn't happen today. I've always wondered about an up to date version of Catweazle - but the PC brigade would ruin it. Added to that the young boy would have to be played by a girl who spat out four lettered words, brought up by transsexual parents and Catweazle would have to be an ex-addict, gay and wear a rainbow monks habit to cover all minority interests. It wouldn't bother me so much which ethnic group he fell into, as that would be just as funny - I just think somehow in someway the 'new' Catweazle wouldn't play it with a 'straight face' and instead go for cheap laughs or condescension, which annoyed me as a child. I loved Catweazle for the simple home fun, that all ages could sit round and laugh. Not many programmes can do that today. But for me Geoffrey Was the star, he made what could have been an average programme fantastic by his mesmerising 'wizard' - which could have been either over the top or very bland as a child, couldn't take my eyes off him - . He gave the whole programme 'fizz.' I wish they had made more. Perhaps .... just perhaps ... I could go back in time ..... :-}

    Apparently they left the ending deliberately open ended but should there have been a third series: Catweazle would have crash landed in the balloon at Carrot's farm from the first series, but the farm's been sold on and there's another family there, where he meets the daughter of the new farmer.

    Thank you so much for placing Catweazle onto KZread. My favourite programme from my childhood. Just hearing the music warms my heart. The last episode of Series one, still breaks my heart. Geoffrey Bayldon and Robin Davies were a terrific double act and totally believable as a pair. In fact the whole cast were tremendous. Magical :) I used to think that series 2 was not as good. However, having had the pleasure (thanks to you) of watching it back i now no longer think so. Thank you!

    I remember as a teenager in the mid 1970s being enthralled with this silly old man riding a big yellow tricycle. I think we saw it on the Australian Broadcasting Commission (ABC) TV some years after the original screenings in Britain. I felt a real pang of loss after just watching this final episode. Catweazle is a great story and a credit to all involved in its production. Geoffrey Bayldon really made the Catweazle character 😂
