Cattivity - Rebel Cat from Nextdoor

Remy comes over from time to time to get a glimpse of Mallory and Bella. Maybe they could hang out... The only problem is that Mallory doesn't like other cats, she tolerates Bella at best. 😂 They hiss and howl at each other, but that has not deterred Remy. As soon as he gets a bit of freedom, straight over to Mallory and Bella's yard he goes.
On this particular day, Bella and Mallory were having some free roam time. To his luck, he didn't have to climb and pry to try and see them through a window. There they were, in flesh. Suffice to say, Mallory did not take kindly to him infringing on her property, so she made the war cry and the team (Bella and her human) advanced to her defence.🤺 #bellathekitten #mallorythecat #catbehavior #tomcat ##cattivity

Remy's parents should be concerned about his attacks. They could be sued for the medical treatment needed caused by his attacks.

❤😮 Wow 😳. I'm glad you are okay, and not hurt super bad. I'm also glad your 2 kitties weren't hurt during this 😮. If he's going to act like that, then they should keep him indoors. He could seriously injure another cat, or person. Not good😢. Thank you 😊 for posting this. 5/23/24.

I can see he's a sweet cat. However, something causes him to snap and get aggressive, especially when he's being rejected. Looks like he is spending more time at home. It's been a while since I've seen him.

@@mallorycatgallery If he's going to act like that, then they should keep him in. I know I would. Just saying. You don't want or need to have either yourself or your fur-babies hurt by that cat. Good luck 🍀 with this. 5/24/24.

I just saw a video in which a man faced down a bear by spreading his arms aggressively and shouting. I think these people need to establish dominance over the cat. You don't need to hurt the cat to get it to back down. (From a cat owner of a cat who was once aggressive towards family members. Now that my cat understands the hierarchy, it is much calmer and happier and so are we.)

Remy is a problem cat, I'd say. Maybe he is sick or in pain somehow. Is he fixed?

I'm not sure if he's fixed. There are some behavioral issues for sure.

Ok. Something is going on with Remy waay out of the norm. If he isn't neutered he could be trying to claain territory, but still....He needs a vet that has good knowledge of cat behavior. Also, as someone else mentioned he could have physical pain that's destroying his personality? I feel bad for Remy, but Bella and Mallory do not deserve to live this trauma drama in their own home! And then there's Mom. It always falls to Mom. 😮

Hope Remy has had his rabies shots. His attacks on you are brutal. Lucky you don't at least get an infection. You are too nice of a person. I would have a can of animal repelent spray with me. Teach him some boundaries. I have been involved with cats for decades and have never come across a cat that attacks humans. I am thinking he has been mistreated at some point in his life. Good luck. 🐈🩹

I suspect Remy is mistreated or was if the current owner isn't the first. Obviously, nobody will admit to that. So, no point asking. Remy's been kicked. He attacked your leg, but only after his owner showed up and triggered his fight or flight response. Remy may have been territorial when encountering your cat, but since he didn't just go after them, this seems like a defensive behavior. When he attacked your leg, 2 things stick out. First, you were in his escape route from the owner. He was cornered. You just happened to be in the corner with him. 2nd, he went for the leg as though he was expecting it to "attack" him. Remy wasn't trying to chase your cat into the back yard, he was trying to follow when he saw his owner coming. The wife loves the cat, the husband puts up with "that dang cat" because he loves his wife. Either of them could be guilty of kicking or mistreating it, especially as the relationship deteriorated or the woman's affection is unrequited by Remy , extra especially if they aren't the first owners. Obviously, I'm guessing and could be way off, but we had 2 neighbor cats prefer our place to their homes and we knew one home had a lot of fighting and bad energy, irregular feeding, etc the other left an empty water bowl and an ant infested food bowl along with the cat being young and declared forced to live outside.
