@@extrapathos Counterpoint, those four seconds were presumably done entirely by one person, probably in their spare time. Disney has an effectively infinite supply of money and access to any animator(s) in the world that they ask for. I think it's a fair assumption that if they had wanted a feature-length movie that looked like that, it could have been done.

As a avid Cats fan who absolutely despises Cats 2019 this was wonderful, I love the person who drew the lads in the og designs, the gang was back together

I haven't watched the movie but I listened to a review from someone that took theatre and participated in a play back in their school. The idea of cats was just amazing and I don't even wanna watch the movie out of fear that it'll butcher the original concept for me.

Fun fact: a hand-drawn animated adaptation was originally going to be released in the 1990s under Amblimation. But due to the poor box-office performances of We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story and Balto, the film was scrapped and the studio shut down in 1997, eventually becoming DreamWorks Animation. There's a ton of concept art for this film on Google. Could've been something worthwhile.

Both 0:39 and 1:26 were amazing! I love 0:39 especially since the animator made the characters actual cats instead of making cat/people hybrids.

If I remember correctly, both those moments were by the same animator.

The mix of the joke animations mocking it and the serious animations is so well done and such a weird juxtaposition that you dont knks what's coming next. My personal favorites were at 0:27 , 1:01 1:22 and 1:26 all of them were well done and some of the mocking ones made me laugh but I like the serious adaptations better:)

The original is the theatre production(1981) with a cinematic remake(1998). Both are elegant and beautiful; and are better than this video. But this video is a million times better than the 2019 CGI remake. Nothing will change my mind.

I wish the movie was re-made by the artists at 1:26 amazing emotion and movement there, there were other good ones too and the funny joke ones were entertaining but that bit there is the shining star imo edit senna church is the one I mean, their artwork is so nice im inspired

1:26 Ok but why is this GOOD.

What a cry and shame it is to not have an animated Cats musical. I mean take the climax of Memory for example (@ 1:26). This one clip represents everything that could’ve been done for this story. Like my eyes were getting teary from this clip. But of course we had to get the nightmare fuel of a disaster.

Animated Skimbleshanks at 1:35 looks so good!!! I love it. I mean all of it is great, I just really love the way Skimbleshanks was drawn.

1:22 and 1:26. How it should've been. A vast improvement and worth the cast's acting efforts.

I like how a majority of them are either making fun of the original, or just make the designs so much better. They make them look like walking cats, not humans dressed up as cats lol.

There's a lot of talent in this one. But my personel favorite is anything done by Senna Church - if the full movie was animated in her style, I'd definitely watch that.

This musical literally BEGS to be animated and would honestly benefit so much from it so why the hell did they force themselves to work with live action it just feels such a backwards choice

My favorite shots are the ones by Ava Roenisch’s Tugger at the bar, Allison Chew’s Macavity, amypinx’s Victoria, Senna Church’s Grizabella sing _Memory,_ and @_noruoki of Tugger dancing with the others.

whoever animated 0:30 perfectly captured the exact facial expression from Grizzabella/Jennifer Hudson in the trailer. i’m so impressed.

This shit would've look so cool as an animation, imagine Furry - the Musical with great voice acting and singing that actually goes on par with music.
