Too me this is quite horrifying. In the second chapter, Mommy Long Legs is absolutely terrified about becoming one with the Prototype, but then there’s Catnap who willingly gives himself to the monster that Toys fear. My guess is that the Prototype manipulated Catnap to worship and help him, just like he helped Theodore’s attempt to escape. This is Catnap’s twisted way of thanking the Prototype.

I thought Catnap running away from the prototype is his way of saying sorry as he failed him and when the prototype rached his hand to Catnap, theodore thought it was to help him but it was just to kill him.

For anyone confused about The Prototype killing Catnap, it was a sacrifice. Usually toys are terrified of the monster like Mommy, but Catnap was a worshipper of the Prototype. When he saw the Prototypes Hand come down, he knew he had to do it. He had realised the beast he had become and had to sacrifice himself to his own God.

As much as people think that Catnap was betrayed, I feel like this was more like him sacrificing himself to the Prototype. The last thing Catnap could do for his God, his "hero," in a moment where he thought all hope was lost after he nearly burned to death, and then suddenly sees the hand reaching down to him like a God, the lighting even adding to it. Then, once Catnap realizes that it was finally time, he got on his knees and offered his body, letting Experiment-1006 take his flesh and skin to add to the Prototype's own body. Truly a twisted way to show just how much Theo worshiped his savior.

I can see it honestly go either way rn. Like I can definitely see CatNap willing give himself to his supposed God. But at the same time, after he was set on fire, he didn't seem that badly damaged. Like if he was beyond repair or something ya, than I could definitely see him sacrifice himself.

@@duck6994 she is confirmed to be a child, she is Marie Payne. You can find a document that confirms this argument in the water treatment area in chapter 2. Marie Payne was a child and because of the experimentation and slavery (she was forced to work against her will) she developed a grudge so strong that it keeps on going even 10 years after the hour of joy

What makes this even MORE messed up is that Catnap essentially had the same "death" TWICE. He was electrocuted as a child and then again as Catnap. Only the first time the Prototype grabbed him and dropped him with the employees to get him medical care. (essentially why he worships him in the first place since he "saved him") He's dying again, sees the Prototype come in and beleives for one second that'll he be save again, only for it to kill him once and for all.

Well in CatNaps view The prototype saved him again, he would have never recovered from those injuries. he offered himself to his good, he was glad that the prototype took him out of his misery and that he will now be part of him

The scariest thing is that The Prototype is actually following you since it's first appearance in Chapter 2. Makes you wonder how its getting around especially how big it is. Pretty scary the more you think about it.

Perhaps it didn't combine the toys with itself, perhaps it could be making it's own toy as a twisted way of making's it's "own" toy. Like it could be Elliot Ludwig? Since Elliot Ludwig says he loves to create toys for children, maybe he sees the player as a child and is making a "toy" for the child. Or he hasn't started the creation of his amalgamation form.

Elliot Ludwig being the Prototype because it has been clarifying many times that the prototype is the most intelligent experiment and even made a laser pointer with a digital alarm clock to temporarily disabled the security camera in it's cell. The Prototype didn't betray Catnap, not from Catnap's view at any rate. Watch Catnap's body language. He offered himself to his god. He was kneeling before him, offering his body to the Prototype. When the Prototype extended his hand, CatNap made a move that said: "Me? Yes! I am yours my lord!"

My favorite part is that catnap didnt need to die, if you look the prototype was willing to help him up but he sacrificed himself instead

Even though we don’t truly know what The Prototype looks like (other than his arm with human bone), I’m excited to see what he looks like. I’m also excited to see where chapter 4 will go. Even The Prototypes voice in the VHS is really creepy. Even in Project Playtime, it’s hard to say exactly to if The Prototype is either the good or bad guy. My guess is that he’s an anti hero. What he does is what he thinks is right, when in reality, it isn’t the best. Even the hour of joy, is just a massive slaughter of people who were and weren’t involved with the suffering of the living toys, which won’t undo the damage that’s been done. Despite everything, The Prototype is making himself stronger with all the toys he’s absorbing into his body, but what exactly is his end goal? We know he has working organs, but he doesn’t eat to stay alive, perhaps what he’s doing, is that he’s making sure the toys don’t die, while giving them a chance without the need to eat? Either way, I’m wondering who The Prototype is gonna be, and where his character will go next. I imagine we’ll probably get 2 more chapters.

actually, once The Prototype impales CatNap, you can see some red stuff splattering from the back of his head. And as we know from DogDay's death, these larger animals have flesh. So I'm assuming that it could have been all the gas, his flesh, and the material of Catnap's skin that caught fire.

But it's not really a sacrifice, it was more like him thanking prototype for saving his life, giving up his own freedom in the process. That’s kind of flipped up because the prototype saved theodore and he saw the prototype as his god and he did what the prototype told him to to and then when theodore aka catnap is asking the prototype to help kill the player in return for catnap he straight up kills him by stabbing him in the mouth and that’s just the ultimate betrayal right there

Catnap was hesitant to approach prototype as he failed him and when the prototype reached his hand out resembling a chin scratch, theodore falls for it and the prototype probally uses the body to strengthen his body, most likely the final boss of the game WILL be prototype.

I cant stop watching............... it feels that part of me wants to smile, its a little horrifying but strangely i cant stop watching it over and over.

during this scene 0:39 i thought catnap was about to grab prototype's hand and pull him down-

I'll be onest. I was suspected that Catnap were going to die in the end, because all the main villains in the other chapters were going to die close to the end of the chapter. But i would never though that were the Prototipe himself to kill him!

I just LOVE the moment where catnap is scared by the hand only for the prototype to gently offer it, sure the prototype is a ultr manipulator who knew catnap was obsessed but make you wonder if it did care just a little bit since trying to help him escape as a kid, now knowing it was time to fuse instead of taking it he gave him a choice, with the lightening giving it a very holy moments and it feel like he was more offering then being betrayed, I love it

I love that you can actually see a very solid internal logic to everything Catnap does despite only having two audible lines of dialogue, with or without knowing his true identity. The fire wounded him tremendously, too much to stand properly, and probably even burnt out whatever organ he uses to make his gas since you see him wheeze out ashes after the fire goes out. The only thing he really had to offer at that point was materials. To make himself part of his Wonderful god.

I feel like Sonne fits the scene when the prototype kills him so much!!

its crazy how theo/catnap died pretty much the same way that he almost died when he wasn't catnap but this time the prototype killed him instead of saving him

imagine being electrocuted, burnt alive then have the one thing you’ve worshipped your entire life kill you

I have no idea how something will be scarier than catnap, every time he showed up I was tense, the shape of him, the smile, the movement it’s all just so off

It’s funny because of their positioning when the Prototype looks like Michaelangelo’s the Creation of Adam. It also fits well with the whole Catnip viewing the Prototype as God thing

Can we say how strong the prototype is. He just jabbed through catnap’s mouth like cutting though butter and nice catnap has the gas feature juts image the all the gas systems in the mounts of catnap. The prototype is gonna be one badass for sure.

When the experiment appeared 1006 A nap cat was afraid of him at first, but he was still so loyal to him that he accepted the fact that he was going to kill him.

...The only thing i got from this is "No... What are you doing..? No... please... ...wait... I remember now... I pray to you, my lord and saviour! Please... save me from this misery-" _then he f'cking died._

I highly think he might make a comeback after let's say, 3 years for the next chapter. And he might do a comeback similar to the Nightmare Huggy.

I think he was willingly going to offer himself to the prototype. Granted; some say that he was betrayed, but from the looks of it, he was willing to let himself go to him. But then again, some say he was betrayed. I just think it’s all about perspective and views on the whole thing, but in my opinion, he’s sacrificing himself for his god!

The prototype is much bigger then before

Bro just opened his arms like God was gonna take his life but trust me yall cat nap isn't the villain it's someone else...

Poppy Playtime should end in Chapter 6. Chapter 4 would be slowly building up towards the ending of the story and the main monster is that spider looking hand that keeps taking every villain away, almost like it’s building something. Chapter 4 would end on a cliffhanger, Chapter 5 would end on a bad ending. Chapter 6 would be a 2 part Chapter. Part 1 is getting ready to kill the monster, Part 2 is eventually fighting the monster.

I really like the ambiguity, if Catnap expected the prototype to pull him to safety or reward him for his efforts, or if Catnap was deliberately giving himself to the prototype to die. I think the clear 'Hand from heaven' subversion suggests the former, but the latter is a possibility.

I'm disappointed that we're no longer gonna use the green hand anymore since it grabs electricity and there's probably gonna be more electricity puzzles in the next chapter the only hands we have is the purple and the orange flare gun

i find it odd that the prototype's hand first outstretches in a beckoning gesture, almost as if it's offering catnap salvation. it shows no hesitation to kill catnap, however.

But before the release of the third chapter, I already had a guess that perhaps Kitty would die. And so it happened. WHY AM I NOT SURPRISED???? GIVE BACK TO CATNAP 😰😓😭!!!!!

1006 was like "Fool.. What a disappointment.."

I like the irony that Catnap is burnt to near death by an electrified green hand when it was this very thing that turned him into Catnap when he was a child.

I like how Catnap had less screen time. Unlike chapter 1 and 2, mommy long legs and haggy waggy appears almost all game.

fun fact: originally,portal 2’s ost “Your Precious Moon” was a placeholder for this scene,and actually fits very well with it.

Notice how Catnap is actually scared when he first saw the Prototype's hand and backed away, but the Prototype offered its hand, inviting him, and then Catnap accepts and offers himself to his God. Its important to note that under that creepy exterior, is a soul and mind of a child, he worshipped and obeyed the Prototype but was still hesitant to die and be part of it, because he was still a child, afraid, scared, and doesn't really know what he's doing or what he got himself into.

I guess The Prototype had enough of Catnap’s Worshipping LMAO

The one thing I don’t like about the death scene is that it was a bit quick for a huge enemy we’ve been trying to fight for so long, but otherwise it’s actually pretty cool.

Now lets answer the question of truth, who's death was most gruesome? Me personally is Mommy's death.

I don’t feel like the prototype manipulated Theodore. Keep in mind that this kid was all alone and the prototype kept him company and encouraged him to sabatoge the company; the Prototype’s goal is to free the kids. When it and Theodore tried to escape and Theodore was electrocuted, the prototype genuinely cared for him by rescuing him instead of escaping by itself. Theodore’s final act was a sacrifice knowing he was going to die anyways.

So no one is talking about the fact that the green hand is literally stuck on Catnap's back.

Ngl, I think it woulda been better if Catnap actually died from us setting him on fire, and then maybe when we turn around the prototype THEN appears to take Catnap's body
