I wonder if maybe the video got demonetized by putting the movie/book name in the title because the production company/book publisher owns all the rights to the title/story and wouldn’t want someone else to make money using their copyrighted content? just an idea

Alice Jarosch Either a psychiatrist or psychologist can diagnose ocd and anxiety. They can make recommendations on treating it as well. If you have chronic illness, I would recommend finding someone who is familiar with the issues chronic illness can contribute to.

@@yogabirds Thanks, I got the diagnosis some years ago and got a new therapist but she didn't realize anything, so I'm on search again. Chronic illness specialist is hard to find, I've been searching for a long time now and didn't find that much but I'll never give up.

Alice Jarosch Ask one of your doctors if they could recommend anyone or if you have a cancer treatment center at the hospital you use or by you, call them and ask who they would recommend. You can also try the psychiatry department at the hospital you use. If you go to a pain clinic, you could also ask them. I know it can be hard to find a good therapist. I had an awful time at first. The one I found is worth her weight in gold a hundred times over again.

I get the being anxious about the lights thing. I have terrible anxiety and thoughts like that are extremely common. I get thought like that when I’m following my dad or my sister and I lose sight of them. I just think I’m going to catch up and find them in a terrible crash. After you feel so dumb for believing that would happen, but you just can’t stop yourself from feeling/thinking that way.

Amy that OCD feel is soooooo real. You definitely aren’t the only one who has feelings like that but it’s so nice to see that there are people out there that are in the same situations I’m in. There was one day a week ago where I hadn’t been home like all day and my brain convinced me that because I hadn’t been home all day my house had burned down. There was no reason for me to think it but my OCD made me believe it anyway. It’s a terrifying situation to be in :(

Amy, I live soo far from you (in Ukraine) and I love your channel so much! I like this one (with vlogs) even more because it shows more of real life & more of real you. You are such a motivation!! About OCD - I had some really harsh obsessive thoughts after a very traumatic breakup. Those thoughts even didn't let me sleep, I was thinking about death all the time. A therapist helped me and I still have it sometimes, but my situation has changed for better! Thanks for your opening up, it's important for us!!! Everyone is fighting his own battle, but you are fighting so many of battles and you still stay cool and positive. I admire you!

Thank you for having the courage to shed light on your experiences with OCD. So many suffer in silence and never get the support they need. Very happy and relieved to hear you are speaking with a mental health professional. I am a therapist here in the states. OCD can be debilitating - the treatment can feel counterintuitive but with support, courage and hard work you can manage this and lead a beautiful life! I am sure you are getting the best treatment but just in case others don’t know what to look for if they are struggling with OCD - the gold standard for treatment is ERP (Exposure Response Prevention) and CBT (Cognitive Behavioal Therapy). Look for a mental health professional that specializes in these two areas. In my humble opinion every person on this planet could use instruction in CBT! It is a joy to see the wonderful support Tom is to you and you to him. Be well.

I have OCD as well. Mayb not as bad as other ppl but my OCD causes me to struggle being away from my kids. I have a 4 year old, 2 year old, and 5 month old. My older 2 rarely go stay the night with their grandparents but when they do I literally live in panic until I get them back. I constantly think something bad will happen because I'm not there and no one understands it. I'm always told to stop worrying and stop overreacting and it just sucks that no one understands that these thoughts and worries are out of my control. It's such a scary feeling and I hate when my brain makes me think bad things will happen to my babies when I'm not with them 😥

Tom is right about going to the doctor's about this. Some medications can cause side effects like this panic episode, and since you have EDS, you may be having a reaction to a medication that isn't necessarily listed as "common" since EDS patients aren't "common". I just came off of a tri-cyclic anti-depressant for my gastroparesis because it was causing problems with my bladder, and it isn't a listed side effect, but it is an off-label usage to use this drug to help children that wet the bed to make it through the night without urinating. Apparently in me, it causes an inability to urinate. It's always best to see a doctor for anything unusual when you're on long-term medications.

Thanks for the book suggestions! I 💗reading! OCD and anxiety often go hand in hand with MCAS and my heart aches for you hon. I’ve been there and know how awful it is! Mast cells secrete over 200 mediators. In normal amounts, they keep the body running smoothly. In abnormal amounts, they cause MCAS an a whole slew of other problems 🤮. I’ve read about a few patients diagnosed with schizophrenia and MCAS who have seen an almost complete resolve of the schizophrenia after being put on a low histamine diet and meds for MCAS. Certain foods, medications, and environmental stressors can all trigger attacks. If you are comfortable emailing me a list of your meds, I can see if you are on any that might be making things worse. I know that there is a lot of stigma around mental illness, but I recommend everyone with MCAS find a psychotherapist skilled in helping patients with chronic illness. Strong emotions and the day to day stress and frustrations brought on by MCAS can trigger mast cell episodes and I feel seeing a therapist to help with that side of things is every bit as important in our treatments as Benadryl and epi. In the meantime, when anxiety starts to set in, stop what you are doing and take a few deep breaths and keep telling yourself “ I’m okay. I’m okay. I’m okay.” At the same time you do that, cross your arms over your chest and hold onto both arms where a blood pressure cuff would go. Alternate squeezing each arm tight with every “I’m okay.” You say. Do this until the anxiety passes. KZread has a bunch of guided meditations for pain and stress. Find a few you really like and try to do a minimum of one per day. This too will help decrease anxiety and stress. Hugs my friend!

I had a bad experience with the upper scope as it turns out sedation doesn't tend to work on me. The lower scope wasn't scary. When I needed an upper one again, I explained my concerns thoroughly to my gastro so she scheduled me last so there was no rush if I needed pauses or more drugs and she put together a combination of different sedatives at higher dose as well as extra local anesthetic and I was so relaxed and happy and it went soooo easily and completely got rid of my fears of getting a scope! ☺ Most of the others in the unit with me it with no sedation and it went fine for all the others in my day ward. So it should be OK! If not, there are ways to make it easier. Best of luck ❤

I thought ocd was more of doing stuff a certain amount of times or having to have certain things in a certain place. Do you have trouble with peeing, don’t they hurt

Danielle Marie I cath to empty my bladder just like Amy (except I was born with a neurogenic bladder due to Spina Bifida so I’ve cathed since birth) and generally no it doesn’t hurt. It can be a little uncomfortable until you get used to it but doesn’t hurt.

You have a short iPhone cord. Do they not sell bigger ones there. Here in Canada iPhone cords are all sizes. I have one that’s 10ft long. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Do you need to do the colonoscopy prep if you don't eat? I guess you would sinceyour body still makes waste. Do often do you have a bm on TPN?

I don’t know why but it didn’t even click with me that if you cannot use your bowels that you wouldn’t be able to urinate yourself. I don’t mean to pry but which medical condition has caused this? It must be a struggle and having had to use a Cath before I know they can be painful

I think.... Just because I have something like that... Many things.... But, maybe you are always afraid that Tom will die because you are afraid of dying and maybe you are scared of dying!!!! I'm going to my stepmoms tomorrow... I'm scared that he's leaving for good and hates me and takes our son away and they die... The whole 9! Anyways.... You always say you're not alone.... Well Amy.... You're not alone!
