THEY CERTAINLY ARE!! When Polygram records got brought out by Universal Music Group, this was one of the bands that got SHAFTED!!

How unfortunate. I became a fan rather late, but started collecting the band around 1998 or so, and bought everything I could get my hands on. Saw the band live on their last tour in 2000. Fantastic. This band deserves a second chance. We need a reformation.

First time I heard this song, back when it was released, gave me chills. Still does. Fantastic song.

Reminds me of Middle School. I just thought of them earlier and I forgot how great they are.I love Catherine Wheel.

I saw this band in Reno, Nevada of all places during their Chrome tour. This song never gets old. What a band! Thanks for the tip on 50ft Monster. I'll take 50% of Catherine Wheel over much of what is out there today.

still,to this day the greatest cd i own. i can still throw Chrome on and listen to it from begining to end. i miss Catherine Wheel.

THX - i was so taken w/ "chrome" that i wrote to the band, like a teenaged groupie, ha. the guy with the red hair actually wrote back. i still have the letter. i had never heard anything like Catherine Wheel up to that point. i still miss them.... :(

Prime candidates for a reformation... They've really been unfairly forgotten.. Their first two albums in particular were fucking brilliant...

GREAT, that's cool one responded to you, the whole cassette was great, but you had to flip it to hear crank/nude, so I made a cassette with just those two over, and over for the whole cassette. What a laugh, music is so much fun.

Yeah. I confess, for some reason this group slipped past me completely. I didn't know about them until the late 90s and I've liked their music ever since.

The whole Chrome cassette was great, Crank, and Nude were two of my favorites from it.

This video was great when it came out... this came out when they were actually still making videos for bands. They had to go against all the "grunge" and "alternative" bands

Interpol, huh? Cool. Yeah, they were definitely a great band. One of the only acts from which I bought all of the albums. That's why I was always surprised how they weren't more of a household name, like Nirvana. Their albums were all solid from beginning to end.

Which is weird, since the cross, the crucifixion and Christ's death (and resurrection) are absolutely essential to Christianity. Regardless, after only owning 'Ferment' for years, I finally got 'Chrome.' What a ridiculously good album.

Always seemed like Catherine Wheel should've been bigger than they were. They were kind of unknown in the States. I remember Ferment when it came out and thinking they'd be huge here, but... nope. They had a string of really strong albums, though-- and there are some popular alternative bands now that sound like they might've influence by them.

I love this song, it's so beautiful and atmospheric. First time I've ever seen the video. Wow the lead singer's eyes are scary! Looks like they're going to fall out, I love the lady in the red dress, she's sexy. Great music video, very artistic. I remember mixed tapes too, I would say that mixed tapes on tape are still far more enjoyable then mixed CD's at least that's what I think. Catherine Wheel rules!

Other musicians know and respect this band, I do!!!

Bands like Interpol said they would not exist without the pioneering music of Catherine Wheel. I put there music on par with Nirvana.

Also, let's not 4get: The Abrahamian God/Joseph The Carpenter, The Virgin Mary, various angels, Wise Men, Judges, Judas, Apostles, the shepherd holding his staff near the neck of the "Lamb" & the 4shadowing Eucharist & the Cross. I got the video's point on my 2nd viewing back in the day & when I realized what it was about I truly loved it! I thought it was so cool: a music video actually teaching a morality tale. But even if all Americans aren't uptight, some are, so I see why it was edited.

SPOILER ALERT: OK NOW I GET IT! I see the difference from this & the US edit. On 2:57-3:07, he's on the actual Catherine Wheel (torture device & fireworks display). In the Jesus role, this symbolically makes him actually look like he really is dying while crucified. It was probably edited for the US, so as to not offend Christian sensibilities.

These guys never got the kudos they deserved, great band that noone (w/the exception of us here posting) ever heard of unfortunately. To bad their label screwed em...Dickinsons good solo though, saw him last yr in DC, good show!

the band name would be perfect for a death metal band, since the catherine wheel was a medieval torture device used to break and sever limbs. this band really doesnt send any kinda message that says torture. i really dont get it.

only reason i say that is because i was in a death metal band called Catherine Wheel back in the 80s way before these creeps even took music lessons. this band should really either change to death metal or change their name
