Apologizing in advance for what may seem as self indulgence, but in Catherine's ulterior lecture "Out of the Blue Brain" it occurred to me, though in an amateurish way, that we needn't to be pessimistic if we considered the dimensions of freedom and subjectivity present in many examples of science fiction concerning artificial intelligence from Blade Runner (also 2049) to Ex-Machina, and others. And though the title may give away the themes to be developed I got enthusiastic when she mentioned the latter movie for its precise implications.
