I was lucky enough to see Catfish and The Killers on the same day at a festival in Spain last year. Catfish played at maybe 6pm, Killers at about 11pm... And Brandon brought him on stage to open this song! Absolutely made my night

***** Yes, I think they've made up for it by posting an insight article on the band touring Australia and describing how Van wanted to carry on with the show despite his voice being fcked.. Not really.. it's been about 10 years since their debut album.. they couldn't have carried on with the same tempo.. not many bands can, especially in the indie industry.. Kings of Leon maybe, but they're more internationally known.. We'll see.. The debut albums are usually the best but then a lot of artists/bands sort of fade away.

Jordan Simmonds You can see most of them in the video. In the verse he releases and hammers in to the E string on the G chord, then the D string on the EM, then he hammers on to the high e on the third fret on the D chord, and with the C at first he only plays the a string and hammers on the D on the 2nd fret and B on the first fret then releases the B again. I'm horribly bad at explaining things so i don't know if you'll understand that lol. just mess about with them and some palm muting you should get it.

Van is such a legend. He isn't like the rest of the artists who are cocky and don't enjoy themselves unlike van. Best upcoming artist at the moment

It might have been because they don't play these live in the morning, and he was probably seeing if they wanted him to restart for a clean copy. If you ever see a clock, or one of the screens that Alex has they usually seem to record them around 11 oclock, probably the day before.

hahah i know exactly how you feel only I was 18 in 2006. The album 'Sam's Town' wasn't greatly appreciated by critics at the time but I never agreed with that sentiment, I found it just as good as Hot Fuss. Anyway, great taste for a 10 year old :)

Van is such an amazing musician, he never disappoints. This cover is fantastic, so as the new stuff by Catfish and The Bottlemen. It's really building to see such a young band doing such great things. I want them to come to Poland so badly :ll

I think this is my favourite like A version and that’s a big call. Just love the casual-ness and groove of this. Don’t know how he got into such a state of flow in such a formal setting but I’m here for it.

I love that whenever he does a mash up, he doesn't use the entire song.

I think I just watched this like 12 times... great voice... great arrangement... great recovery... great attitude... really creative tight guitar skills... I wish i could see this kid play a J-45 for a couple of hours of songs!

British people perform with such passion and professionalism. Their guitar playing is top notch. This guy and the kooks blow me away every time in this format

I like this cover because it's still true to The Killers' version, but Van still makes it his own. That's a good cover.

the reason that van made a mistake was because he originally planned to sing 'are you gonna be my girl' by jet, but triple j said no because no one is interested in jet anymore, so he had to learn this song quickly and he barely knew the lyrics but nonetheless he made this song sound so unique and different to the original, it's so refreshing to listen to. he is a musical genius

Ive probably watched this video 20,000 times, i love both versions so much, they're so similar yet incredibly different, it baffles me. All around an amazing song though!
