A cool tidbit: CaterParrott owns some of the SD70M-2s now.
Jingle bells, on a train horn? Never thought I’d hear that.

I read you're comment just before the beginning of the video. Then the video started and made me chuckle. I wasn't expecting it to be the first thing. 😅

Our local up train does it!
The branch from Machen used to go all the way to Covington and served a scrap yard in Porterdale till 2006. It was abandoned all the way back to Machen, scrapped in 2013, leaving a lead for the wye that's not there anymore.... the Cricket Frog bike trail now runs the corridor from downtown Covington all the way to downtown Newborn where they have paved the path.
I think that train at the beginning was trying to whistle "Jingle Bells". That was cool!
C-P has that beautiful sounding horn like I've heard on the Amtrak out here in Texas.
Looks like CaterParrott takes some pride in well maintained equipment. In particular, the E unit is beautiful.
I sure learned multiple new things today. I’m especially interested in their tourist operation, Azalea Sprinter.
Great video. While in college at UGA, I drove to Madison almost everyday. Very cool old school town. Always enjoyed checking out the train action as well. Back then NS still ran the line and you saw more CSX along the GA RR than you see today. The two mainlines running in parallel through downtown always struck me. It was cool to think that a random small town in central Georgia at one time had two mainlines running through it. It was also fun to explore what I could find of the old Central of Georgia tracks after the GP plant that run on up to Athens. It’s long been out of service. Rails are still there, but practically abandoned.
CaterParrot is a Small Railroad I’ve never heard of. Thanks Charlie! 👍🙏

Great Video V12, we love seeing these old mules refurbed and placed back into service.
Live 5 minutes off the former SP Giddings/Brenham sub that’s served by the austin western AWWR. I’m still determined to one day film it’s run from Giddings to McNeil or further and have quality narration and captions and I’ve got a nice catch of 3 of its hand me down geeps and triclops all running long hood forward coming soon to my channel. My upcoming video will be my first ever railfan video with captioning a little bit of editing and primarily focused on shortlines and very very low traffic levels down to straight up very rare catches. Hope to have people enjoy it when it releases in the next two weeks! Always love any of your productions excellent catches and cinematography as well as narrating I wish I could have confidence to do

first video I watched when I got home!
It's definitely an incredible train spotting program !! Greetings from India.
Beautiful capture 🎯📷
Nice video. I have a short line, the AVR. Conrail sold their tracks to them in the 90s. Also another short line near me is the Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad which was bought out by Canadian National in 2004.
Awesome Trains Locomotives.😊👍
Thanks for your reporting on CPR. It is the only way I will ever seem them. Thanks. I can always look forward to a fun and positive video.
Thank you for introducing us to the CaterParrott Railroad. You gave us a good introduction to this railroad. Please bring us more videos of this short line when you have the opportunity.

EMD Notch 8 sound...woo ! !
The branch line that runs through my home town, now operated by RJC still has the Southern Railway Paddle Whistle boards up

Interesting video, you should check out Kansas City Terminal Railway next
What a interesting railroad ❤
Their Azalea Sprinter excursion train ride in south Ga is nice. We did the longer ride from Willacoochee to Moody Air Force Base.
Nice presentation Charlie. I can understand the attraction of the short line. Local, low speed and diverse freight. During the summer at our beach home in DE, I try to catch Maryland & Delaware hauling products for the poultry industry that is large on the Eastern Shore. They have two RS3M vintage power.

I miss the old Horn Valves that allowed the Engineer to feather the Horn. Today's railroads us a puch button. It's either on FULL BLAST or off. I hated running locomotives with the push button horn. Nice Video and thanks for making your videos. I finally subscribed.
Super. 💙 T.E.N.
Charlie, thanks for this interesting shortline profile! Great production values! Dan

8:34, this might be the same E unit that came through my area a couple years ago while in transit to this short line. At that time it was still wearing Iowa Pacific colors.

When did the Strasburg railroad first start running trains, all I can find is June 9th 1832.
Very Nicely done ✔️
Cool.
My personal favorite short line is Hartwell Railroad in Georgia
Nice shave and a haircut at the beginning
Ive seen there stuff around madison and shady dale but never seen them run. Also i have photos of the abandoned portion of track between madison and bishop. Feel free to get in touch if you wanted to use them in a future video man.
Love any E-8s.
Well. Done
Nice Video, Charlie. For the CaterParrott and other Class 2 and 3 RR, who provides the maintenance of power, track, and roadbed?
I remember when Southern and then Norfolk Southern ran regular freight on that line from Macon all the way up to the connection to their Atlanta-Greenville main in Lula. Was in a hunting club adjacent to the tracks on Aqua Rd. NEVER thought I’d see that go away. The state of the Georgia Road is disturbing too considering a lot of the CSX traffic on it is gone.

It’s interesting that the caboose is still used by the Class ones on certain local freight trains primarily as shoving platforms when they have to reverse up a spur it could be used for other things that I don’t know but that’s my guess where I’m from they’re quite common on BNSF various green Burlington Northern cabooses and a few red Santa Fe cabooses are seen in North Central Texas on a few local freight trains
👍👍👍❤❤❤🚂🚂🚂
can you do a vid on the Wisconsin & southern?
You need to do a story on my local class 3 FingerLakes Railway their home base is in Geneva,NY
I think someone forgot to close the engine door.
Nothing like ratty decades old stick rail to say "Hey, I'm a Class III railroad!" And speaking of Class III railroads, the B-roll shots of the Nashville and Western (NWR) former Santa Fe and Conrail U-boats were scrapped late last year.
Is that 5 horns on top of #7003 @ "6:31" a great 👍 salute ❤😊
Hi Charlie ,can you tell me if it is true that canadian pacific bought kcs railway,,, if it is yes,can you tell me when,,, thank you and keep the good work, from a subscriber in canada.

Do you know Amtrak ACS 64 have only been in service for 10 years and they’ve been having ditch lights since they were first made in 2013
Comment for algorithum. Still think the algorithum has a grudge agaist this channel.

Nice, what type of camera do you use?
Have you been to Spartanburg SC
I’m surprised that if the US President is on a train it isn’t called Army One.
What’s up with the “v” instead of “U” on the court house.. and in three different words.
So that's were all the Canton paper mill chip cars went to

@@Trainman-cw1zl I don't really know what the reporting makes were for the pool that ran to canton, this cars may have been sold to someone else. When ns hiked the rates several years ago in a Saturday night, customers flipped Monday morning because ns said "we don't have any equipment to carry your products, but we can sell you these cars". Customers of course couldn't order equipment overnight so they bought the ns cars, it was a setup bs game by ns, everyone knew it.
