Lyrics:
Wide of the line in occasional bloom
Still ahead of the night
Still never not there
And I’m never going to be there again
Promises speak in
Confusion and dice
A day in the life
Arranging the chairs
And I’m never gonna live it again
Why do they stick
When your lips read like stone
Mouthing the lines
Returning the air
Am I’m never gonna feel them again
I love you but you’re not here
I love you but you’ve gone
If I’m never going see it again
It’s too late now,
#daylightmatters #catelebon #reward
Your money’s lent
Dreams I’ve had and never shared.
Sacrificed
The daylight matters
#mercuryprize #catelebon #reward

That's what Yoko Ono meant to sound like in a perfect universe.
I had never heard of Cate Le Bon before, but I'm falling in love with this album rather quickly.

@@martynthomas8819 That it is Martin, I'm not sure if it has much of a future as a coal burning plant with all this wind power + other nonsense keeping the lights on. The sand dunes at :40 in are at Merthyr Mawr which is 20 miles west of the power station, Merthyr Mawr has a much nicer beach than Aberthaw.

Love your style.
Maybe you can live through the loss of love after one more than enough trips down the hole. The words are sad but the tone is positive. Wow.
If she was around in the 80s she would have been a massive worldwide star
I saw her yesterday at Lorient, magic !
This video reminds me of the movie Red Desert by Michelangelo Antonioni.
I love this album so much.

Checking this out because I just read a Jeff Tweedy interview where he says she is his favorite guitarist right now.

I just watched the Tweedys play this on their show. So good.
Wow! The imagery in this video with the juxtaposition of open, natural spaces and industrial structures made me wistful for the way my hometown used to be, with vast swaths of trees and wooded areas that have subsequently been razed to make way for more retail shops, restaurants, and a road that I used to ride my bicycle on in the 1980s when that road was under construction (before automobiles were allowed on it). Beautiful vocals, too -- what a unique timbre in that voice.
My favorite artist.

Black Trans Light Matters

I can only fully answer that after hearing the album and seeing Cate live in Cardiff this summer. I last saw Cate on her Crab day tour and it was a happening. Probably the best performance of film , live music and then after an outstanding encore of her hits that I've experienced. She really is one of Wales foremost musicians currently.

It's 'different'. Just had a quick skim through on amazon; slower than the energy of Mug Museum, different from Crab Day. Some outstanding songs on it. I probably prefer the 2 that were released as singles the least (so this one and Home to You) but overall it needs a good few listens I suspect....

@@rigatone Thanks for that, I'm hoping she plays a mix of her works and not only the songs from Reward. The crab day gig was superb but she needn't do that format again.

My feeling is that she's going the same synth pop route that so many artists have been turning to lately, and it seems so flat and boring. What I love about most of her work prior to this album is that it was a great mix of all styles. This one is strictly adult contemporary pop that wouldn't sound out of place on top 40 radio.
Will forgive for the horrible cover/'art' work.......this album is superb!! Cate goes from strength to strength........Beautiful.
