She went with a deeper register for Carol's voice, another part of Cate's genius, and certainly adds yet another dimension to her insanely brilliant portrayal. My gratitude for all the artists involved in this film for creating this beautiful story of lesbian love that has been in our hearts and minds since the time of Sappho. I just saw this movie for the first time about a month ago. Fell in love with both of them. Cate is obviously beautiful but to me so is Rooney. I’ve watched way to many times. A movie you can’t stop thinking about it. Rooney and Todd are so open to everything so Kate was able to get really involved. I believe they loved each other during this because neither one had done this before. They speak very lovingly about each other. I don’t think they’ll forget this movie, but normal life goes on. It’s just us that can’t stop reliving it.

I'm STILL obssessed with this movie. In my opinion, one of the best movies Film4 has ever made.

i've watched this film about 50 times yet i still get chills every time i hear carol say 'flung out of space'

Rooney Mara made this film. Her anticipation, joy, anxiety, desire, infatuation, hurt, and her sense of withdrawal was conveyed with a look. Therese got used and the audience felt her pain. Mara's expressive, subtle acting felt real. I'm going to read The Price of Salt to get more insight into both characters. Although few will agree, for Therese, she felt the illusion of love. For Carol, this was more about escape from a patriarchal cage and the freedom found in being herself. This film is haunting. The cinematography was brilliant. A great film, in fact, a classic was made with Carol.

Il n'y a eu aucun calcul de la part de Carol...de la même façon qu'elle avait à régler son divorce, Thérèse était perdue ... et elles sont justes tombées amoureuses l'une de l'autre avec toutes leurs différences...

This film was meant to be - it changed / positively affected many lives around the globe, including mine. It’s 2023 and I’m still watching it and every moment still resonates.

This film is A work of Art.

I have never been in love, nor have I ever been even asked out, and I'm nearly 25. So this movie, for me, was not only incredibly beautiful but also very sad in a certain way. I actually stopped believing in love (however cheesy it sounds) but "Carol" was so touching that it reinforced in me this idea of romance and adventure and I wish to have a chance to experience it at least once in my life.

A classic movie of the first class, and Blanchett is a great actress. So is Ronnie Mara♥️♥️👌

Carol is a wonderful love story between two women. Thank you for this great movie. We all love you Cate and Rooney.

One of the most wonderful things about hearing and seeing Cate Blanchett like this, sans script, sans lighting, sans someone else's direction, just in the grip of her passion for her art and the piece of art in question, is that I realize that my decade long infatuation with her film persona is not a superficial projection of The Ideal Of The Perfect Woman: She just is.

Cates always been on my radar but for some reason its like I've rediscovered her. Her beauty is just explosive now. When I see her and listen to her, I'm just so completely captivated. What a gorgeous beautiful sexy intelligent funny goofy... just all the things, woman.

Kate is unreal how lucky r we to see her in so many movies LOVE from TEXAS

i like cate's kind of "cosmic" belief that it was meant to be made when all the right people were ready to be blended.

I don't understand how Kate doesn't see how beautiful she is. She said in an interview a couple years ago that she's not beautiful in the traditional sense, that people have to really look to see and find beauty within her. I just couldn't believe that someone as perfect as she is would think otherwise. I guess she's kind of a butterfly. Butterflies are beautiful, but they don't know that they are. They don't see themselves. We do. and maybe that's what's going on with her cuz she is definitely beautiful in and out.

I'll never get tired of watching this movie. Both Rooney and Cate performances were amazing. They had such an amazing and beautiful quemistry.

How can a woman be so graceful and beautiful?! Blanchett is absolutely wonderful.

I prefer to read a book before watching the movie on the same so that I can create my own characters and define them, but I'm glad that I watched Carol before reading the book, because the casting couldn't have been more perfect. I still find myself living in the book whenever I'm alone.

Same here ,watched hundreds of films/movies in my lifetime (53) and I missed this initially when it was released in cinemas . So I finally got to watch it when it got released on Netflix and it's already in my top ten.i just wish I had seen it on the big screen.

Cate's face at 18:37 , omg now that I've seen the movie it's giving me goose bumps. It was magnificent, I love it to pieces.

Brilliant interviews, didn't know Rooney Mara but I think they made a great job with the casting: you can feel the chemistry between both characters. That fact, together with Todd's sensibility and what seems a great story, will give us a jewel of a film.

The simplicity between these two characters and the way they performed the pure meaning of love and passion made me feel in love with the movie , their light make up their simple and decent style is just lovely

The movie is beautiful, Cate is gorgeous and her voice I could listen to her speak forever. I have ordered the book, I hope it comes soon.

Here i am again after years, falling in love with Cate as if it the first time I see her.

I hope we can get to look at Todd Haynes' book with all the scenes drawn out I think it would be so interesting. Really excited about this movie. Also Cate Blanchett's voice is so smooth and lovely

It makes me a bit sad that Cate has said that she doesn’t want her sexuality to be addressed, even though I totally understand and appreciate it. But I really just want her to not be straight. I know it shouldn’t be a big deal and shouldn’t matter but I just frankly want everyone to be a little gay. That said, I really like that even though the main characters in Carol being lesbians is such a massive part of the movie, it didn’t really matter, it was really about just about falling love.

Stellar cast, stellar film and I loved every gloriously shot minute of it. Loved this interview format too, thoughtful, ambitious and informative with four very relevant points of view. If Cate Blanchett were to do nothing else from now on, she has done the world sufficient service given her interest in this movie project and her acting. Tod Haynes and Rooney Mara were magnificent too. A beautiful endeavour.

OMG - i fell in love with this film after watching it. I watched it mainly because of its theme, but also I had been following Rooney's career. Her performance was fantastic. I knew of Cate Blanchett only by name having seen her in "Elizabeth" when I was a kid though I'd never watched any other films of hers. Cate nailed this film. Subsequently, I read "The Price of Salt" and it was hard to envision anyone else playing the character Carol except for Cate. I wanted Rooney to win the Oscar for supporting role, though, after watching "The Danish Girl", Alicia Vikander's performance deserved it. Rooney will get an Oscar if she chooses the right flick, and the distinguished Cate...well, lots more for her.

im still here going back after watching the movie again and then reading the novel and then watching reactions reading fanfictions and creative visual works of all the adoring fans under the spell of Cate Blanchett

I’m more in love with this movie than they were in love with each other

Intense and emotionally repressed film. Beautifully shot and idiomatic of the 1950’s. Many scenes are lonely and yet glamorously raw. They really angled the “criminal angle” of same sex relationships of that time.

I can't get enough of this book and this movie. Cate has always been my favourite, now she has become some one forever "carol" to me. I wish i could find my " carol" someday.

Cate's voice can literally put me into sleep. I love it.
