Yes you read it correct! Catching Tuna from the Rocks! Yessah Fishing back again with another Epic Shore Jigging Big Island Hawaii Drone Fishing episode! Yessah Fishing along with TBD Fishing and friends get together catching tuna from the rocks or SHIBI (Small Yellowfin Tuna) from the cliffs of south point big island. Using a DJI Phantom 2 & 3 to drop some jigs in hopes for a major hook up.
Drone fishing on a cliff in hawaii is a exhilarating experience. The one thing that grants us shore fisherman an advantage without a boat or a kayak to dip our lures in the deep blues. In this episode you will see our drone jigging techniques (how to drone fish) we use out here on the Cliffs of Hawaii. Our method works! We managed to pull up a bunch of AHA (Hawaiian Needlefish) two shibi's small yellowfin tuna with the drone & one more using a Flagline.

Does a floater necessary when fishing on shore especially on the cliff or to where fished on the vid?

Floater rigs can be necessary if you're targeting a certain species of fish. Whether you fish from a cliff or near the shore there are always factors like wind/current, reef & Rock structures that you need to watch for, basically you would have to judge the situation to know for sure if it's necessary to use a floater rig or not.
