Fly fishing for mullet is a great idea if you are new to the sport and want to get a few fish under your belt. The flyfishing technique for mullet I use in this video is simple - a foam bread fly that floats and acts as an indicator, with a dropper of about 20 cm to an egg yarn bread fly that sinks. I used a four pound tippet on this outing.
Most of the mullet will hit the submerged bread fly so keep an eye on the foam fly and strike when it goes under!
The only other requirement is some bread for berley - at first I used a few handfuls to get the mullet into the area and then only a small piece every few minutes to keep them there.
