That was really nice to help them (the other boat). Definitely a lesson on what to do if you see someone who needs help (a tow back). Ultimately it's not if that is ever you, it is when it's you and you hope someone does the same for you. Some really nice catches!

Azuma are the smoothest ledge fishing crankbaits made by far. The Zboss 20 is the workhorse, but the 22,24 and monstrous 25 are killers for giant Tennessee River bass. Throw some Azuma cranks some time instead of just 6th sense.

I crank with 12lb floro. It definitely gets them deeper than mono and doesn’t stretch as bed. Mono is nice because it doesn’t fray on rocks as easy.

I got on the white bass with the C20 and one 25# drum last weekend on Gvill had fun I love cranking nice fish. bought me 12 of the Cseries about 2 months ago I am ready for ledge fishing.

I've been throwing cra kbaits in 10lb Trilene XL mono believe it or not the line is perfect for any reaction style baits especially big plugs.. try it. Rig two reels one with 10 and one with 12.. you'll be surprised how much better they get the bait

Love the intro in this vid . Its so weird seeing you out deep fishing all ready . We are just getting the forst waves of prespawners moved up. Was cranking on some big smallies now a bunch of little Large Mouth buck bass have moved up and seems all I can catch is 1-2lb fish.Looking forward to building on my off shore tactics I staryed learning last year . Really want to see some of those flutter spoons in action . Ita similar to a big glide bait in a way where they are so big hard to believe a 2lb fish will try to eat one . Sunline Cranking FC best crankbait line on the planet. Also the 1oz jackhammer killer ledge bait with the larger Keitech for trailer.

Personally have never tried it but I have heard that Carolina rigging a crankbait catches some quality fish when the fish are just too deep for normally throwing a big plug.

I have got to learn how to ledge fish. After early July, I struggle fishing from the kayak. I have a Garmin as well (no panoptix), so I should be able to mark them. Staying in place is a different problem

Hey Darian, terrific vid all way thru my friend!! On over here on Lanier and while I have a few dt20, c20, and some xd’s, I’ve never really focused on ledge fishing. I plan to do more this year. Of course our fish are more spots than LM, and they tend to suspend more, so spybaits are big as well as FHSs and Swimbaits. I’m sure you have, but have you used the big scroungers on ledges much like Lambert and Gross? I’m sure that falls into your 3rd ledge rod setup...Swimbaits! Lol

10lb mono actually works really well! that is all my dad used to use when he would deep crank. You don't lose nearly the amount of baits with that line than you would 10lb flouro.

Yes but it is a very thin diameter so it won’t effect the diving of that huge bait, and it is stronger than fluoro so it won’t break as much!

Never fished this lake, is it clear water? Does lake have a lot of current? David Dudley told me once that my home lake would not be good at deep cranking because it doesn’t have the current like the Tennessee river chain

It is 2-3ft visibility at times. It does have current and the big ones love it!
